First time I’ve seen a ref calling advantage over after 20m multi-phase

Time to give Zarn a crack at the goalkicking?
And FH (assuming no Perofeta)?

BB shouldn’t be goalkicking at all. He’s absolutely shockingly bad

Good to see they aren't ignoring high tackles like the last match earlier... and penalty advantage only being 20m... I like it...

Well played Rebels. Blues looking totally devoid of structure or game plan. This season is rapidly receding to the bad old days of 15 individuals turning up each week.

Nope. I have your goat captive here in Coalfalls,

I wonder if there is any law for how long or far advantage is applied? Other refs come back unless a try is scored...

I'm in the UK Dan. Who is a better pundit than Mehrtens? He mixes intelligent analysis with great humour...
I think there a few , Merts is ok, and like the man. but there a few bloody good pundits around. I must admit I not into the pundits that try and be funny, that's why I go off Goldie etc, when he is serious and not trying to be funny he has some good stuff to say, best aftermatch discussion I have seen this year was him and Coleman Tah's coach, also TJ Perenara. Kane Hames, James Parsons, Jeff McTainish I keen on. As I said there are a few, good ones around, and it's quite often the ones on sideline as that's all they do. Funnily enough I used to have to defend Merts in Aus because mates used to not be keen on his views.
Wilson is not funny. He's a moron. Merhtens beats all those for mine. Parsons and Hames are ok, but a bit dry for my taste...
Yep mate I like my pundits to just discuss rugby and not try to be funny. Not knocking Merts, like the man, but I don't need jokes.

I know the conditions are heavy but Rebels look knackered across the park and we've only just gone past the 50. Could get ugly for them last 10.

How is that not a pen against Rebs' player for throwing the ball away to a ball boy, thus preventing a quick throw?

And hopefully that will encourage BB to keep kicking away possession if he plays for the ABs later in the year.

BB isn’t too bad when he breaks the line. The problem is he rarely breaks the line these days.

Like Ntamack, if all you ever do is look to kick away as your 1st instinct, you'll rarely challenge the line at all.

Yeah Beaudan was pretty average again today... and the less said about his goalkicking the better... he can't be close to the All Blacks in this form... even at fullback...
Christie has lots of energy but is just too slow at clearing the ball to be a consistent All Black...

Credit where credit is due. He had a very good second half but his goalkicking is shocking. Christie had an excellent match today but is third choice behind Webber and Smith imo.

Yep, I'd rather give both halfbacks from today's earlier game more chances. Christie was average at best on the EOYT.

I’m watching a replay now. There’s no way I’d say BB has had a good game, let alone a very good one. He’s having moments where he manages to execute a decent play. The commentators then rave about his genius while he goes back to being merely average and Zarn Sullivan quietly goes about the business of doing good things without being noticed.
I’m at the 70 minute mark and BB has been terrible. Christie likewise. It’s an awful scenario for the ABs as it’s likely they’ll both be included in the team while not deserving it on current form.

I was at the game and I thought he did ok in the 2nd half though personally I wouldn't have him in the Blues starting line up. I find it annoying how he goes to fullback in defense when he no longer has counterattacking ability. It means he is involved far too much.

It makes me nervous for the kid, but the drums beating for Roigard are based on no more than very good halfback play and a big part of that is how quickly and consistently he gets to the breakdown and clears the ball quickly and accurately. There's a calmness in his play, if I can call it that, or a lack of panic might be more apt, and boy, do the Canes need a big dose of that. Not Smith fast on the pass, but good enough and possibly next best.
