You really love calling people racists. You can’t prove a negative, that you aren’t. Very, very sneaky.
I dunno Oom Fangle.
OomPB likes to skirt the edge ("Quota player!", "POC ref!" etc) and then every now and again the mask slips when he gets riled up and he calls somebody a K-boetie.
Some will call him a racist for that. Others will say it's not racist at all. Some will say he's just a product of his time.
I dunno, I'm with Nipper on this. I tend to believe my gut when people let their mask slip.

It does not matter. If I swear at home , whatta vok do it have to do with any rugby forum?
You quote me to use the word on THIS forum. Defend it, get the quote on this forum, give us a link.
Well thank you for proving my point Oom, the fact that you are trying to worm your way out of this like our dear Zuma in a court case proves my point.
You wish death on eldery people via Covid. Just show what kind of kont you are.
Listen here Oom, I actually apologised for that joke on here, and I am man enough to take my criticism for it. You on the other hand seem to be unable to own up to calling a poster a K boetie on planet rugby a few years back. Be a man and admit your mistakes here like I did

I apologised on PR after I posted it. You were still in Grey High during that time.

Ah here we go. I rehashed a twitter joke I read which called Covid the Boomer Remover. I was called on it and I apologised. I don't there is more to it tbh

It was an edgy joke about how Boomers are ruining the planet and Covid was doing us a favour. It was clearly a joke.
Early in the pandemic there were all kinds of jokes like that calling Covid a "Boomer remover". I think I might have also made a joke like that, if not here, then somewhere else.
There's a massive difference between an obviously edgy joke, (offensive and insensitive as it might be) and a comment made with real malice.
When OomPB calls Syia a "Quota" or Rasta a "POC ref"...do you think that is intended as comedy? Or, like I do, see the comment as drenched in racist undertones that got exposed when he let his guard down and dropped the K-bomb?

So both of you (OomPB allegedly) made seriously wrong remarks and both of you apologized. Why are you on his case? Let it be.

Not really an edgy joke if we have older posters on here with close family in ICU with Covid tho, now is it?

It was made in February 2020, before any sort of lockdown. But yeah I am hardly surprised you are out to bat for our resident racist.

I think you will find that if you look back, I have not defended PB in any way. I missed the post on PR and was simply asking if there was any proof. If he made that post, that's on him.

The joke wasn't made last week. It was early on in the pandemic before people came to grips with how bad it was going to get.
Gallows humour...its a thing you know. Not really that new either. Jokes exist about bad things, and that's okay.
It was an obvious joke at the time, but BN stepped up anyway and apologised for it.
On the other hand, a certain other poster still drops coded racial language day in and day out, and dropped a full on racial slur, but tries to weasel out of owning it "because it wasn't on this forum".
Not even close to being the same thing.

Smart move. Until the Covid situation in SA becomes stable, our unions and local rugby will continue to suffer. We can't have the same 5 teams playing against each other week after week in empty stadiums.
There just isn't enough interest and cash to sustain it. Top tier players are better served to wait the situation out playing in Europe or Japan while they still have some bargaining power.
The only reason for a Springbok player to stay right now is if they are concerned about family and don't want to be stuck overseas if things go south.

Pretty sure he'll earn around R20 Mil per annum. No way any SA province can compete.
Its also not new news, he was on his way to Munster when the Irish rugby board canned him.

How many games did he play for the Stormers , WP in total..........put aside a years great performance in 2019....what has he actually contributed to WP/ Stormers. Trust me , at the Sharks we sat with the same issue......he hardly ever played. Thats a huge financial burden for any union to manage

He was actually over played by the Stormers. He add full value whenever he plays, be it for the Stormers or Springbok. You dislike him and Kolisi because they play for the Stormers. Kolisi is your hero now.

In 4 years [including 10 months of no rugby] he ha played 63 matches.

Nope, the Sharks preferred Marcel Coetzee. PSdT got to his full potential after joining the WP.

Winning the Currie Cup with the Sharks was the pinnacle of his career. He's achieved virtually nothing since then.

They fill the same niche I think; erratic play-makers who create magic but also make a ton of mistakes. At the end of the day you hope their positive contributions outweigh the brain farts and schoolboy errors.
Seems to be doing well with Rhule in France. Might be a useful understudy at 15 should Willie get injured or be unavailable.

He's looking a lot stronger than he was at the Stormers. He also seems to be a slow and steady improver. And he's being coached by Ronan o' Gara who has spent a lot of time in the Crusaders coaching setup. At age 28 he could be very useful as a full back cover for Willie and will absolutely be in the frame for the next world cup. I'd rather have him at 15 than Gelant or Willemse for the Lions tour. The Lions will not be fielding huge outside backs so speed on defence will be more important than bulk.

He would be my preference as well, but both Gelant and Willemse already have a foot in the door with the Rassie setup, so they will (unfortunately) have the inside track. Barring injury, I don't think Rassie and Nienaber will axe in the incumbent players to make space for outside players. They seem to place a lot of value on continuity.

Beyond the Lions series, there should be plenty of Bok games for Rassie to blood some new players, as well as retreaded players like Leyds.

Agreed. I think Fassi is heir apparent and Willemse and Gelant still have time to kick on. I think Gelant would have done so by now if he was ever going to. Willemse seems to have similar issues of temperament.
Willemse and Gelant could do with stints overseas. Personally I don't think the domestic environment has sufficient experienced backline players or coaches to develop our backs. So they continue bad habits and don't have mentors to learn from. Guys like Frans Steyn and Ruan Pienaar and Moernaai.
That's why I had so much hope for us moving into a Northern competition. Guys like Faf, Reinach, Willie and Kolbe have really rounded out their games there. Rhule and Lleyds are facing massive Fijians and battle hardened All Blacks week in week out. If they are as kak as many here think they are they would have been kicked out ages ago.
Rhule and Leyds are regular starters in a team that's reached the Champions Cup Final and sits at no 2 in the French League.

Rhule scoring two of his eight tries so far this season.
