Total nonsense from the officials. There was a high degree of danger to the neck from that action.bok_viking wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:54 pmIt was not a red card because the player landed on his lower back. So was not deemed dangerous enough for red.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:49 pmA game they were only semi interested in. No Lucu or Jalibert.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:41 pm That ball needed to go to the outside man or be kicked ahead for him. Bordeaux squandered a chance they could ill afford to.
PS How was Kok not a red card?
Damn that was hard to watch in the last 10 minutes.
Fantastic effort from the Sharks. The French looked very determined at the start and I was worried. Especially after the Werner card. But the Sharks slowly poisoned them. Sucked out all the earlier enthusiasm. And just dominated in the forwards. Fantastic effort from Bosch tonight. Eben as well. Hard to call MOTM.
At least a Saffer side managed 1 against the French in a very cold and hostile environment. Maybe this is why the French don't want us here. They don't like being exposed.

And Werner did nothing wrong. Hard to blame a player that takes the ball and dots downbok_viking wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:55 pm Hope Tambwe will be ok ands its just precaution. My favourite ex bull player of last few years.

I will take it. That match was fought amongst the forwards. Was never about big scores. This was about leaving a marker .sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:07 pmSteady on, it was a 3 point win.Sards wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:04 pm Damn that was hard to watch in the last 10 minutes.

See my post. It was a C team. You safas are new to these comps. You'll get used to it.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 5:09 amYep Lions should have put 50 past that French rabble.
There should be no excuse for fielding B or C teams.
French are overrated.
The Sharks was outstanding. Great win.
French overrated? What does that make SA after Marseille?
They played the team presented. Which represents the club. Not the Lions fault there is no depth and they fielded a weakened side. Did the Sharks also play a C team.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 8:31 amSee my post. It was a C team. You safas are new to these comps. Exactly. The NH clubs like that stupid excuse. If you field shite teams then take the loss that go with it. Was the same last year when Leinster lost to the Sharks & Stormers.Sards wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 8:41 amThey played the team presented. Which represents the club. Torq's right, you guys don't get it yet. We don't all know the strength of the squads from across the respective leagues, so it's common for those who do know to point it out. That way we can better understand our teams' performances in context.
I remember several years ago Wasps beat Leinster which was a really big deal for us (Wasps) given our historically poor results against them in the competition. But that was the first season Matt O'Connor was in charge and they'd been doing really poorly (by their standards) in their league too, something of which I was unaware. So beating them wasn't quite the achievement I'd thought and I didn't let my expectations for the season inflate unreasonably.

Winning away is a big deal for SA sides, we’re traditionally poor overseas. Beating sides in freezing conditions is doubly impressive.
Sure the oppo might be C team on occasion, but mentally it’s important for the players to do well.
Of course some fans will get over-excited and end up with egg on their faces later in the competition.

It has nothing to do with depth. French sides have no interest in playing in the Mickey Mouse. Which is why I've argued since inception that no top tier teams should see a cent for participating unless they pick up points.
Stomers played an A Clermont side (who are at the bottom of T14) and got hammered.
I lost my old phone and can't remember my PR login but I can imagine the Ulster contingent there are going spare over the fiasco of today's game.
I like to think I am one of the more rational Ulster fans and don't think there is always a IRFU/ERC/URC/etc/etc. conspiracy against God's Own Country. But it seems that we have been royally shafted here.
Apparently the pitch is fine as of this morning according to Petrie but the decision was taken out of Ulster's hands. Probably half a mil in ticket sales gone. Home advantage gone.
Wouldn't matter too much in the end as we'd likely get tanked either way but seems a bit fucked.

Bulls need to smarten up at the breakdown. Exeter thrive on possession, you don't want to keep ceding it.
The only Bulls forward putting in an effort is Bismarck. The rest are asleep.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 1:18 pm Bulls need to smarten up at the breakdown. Exeter thrive on possession, you don't want to keep ceding it.
