Todays News from MAGA world.
Speculation is growing that the reason SCOTUS hasn't responded yet to the immunity case, is that there aren't enough Justices who want to take it, so the delay is the die hard MAGA justices taking their own sweet time writing dissenting opinions, to just delay, & delay some more.
CNN did some good investigative reporting, & they've found that Ken Chesebro, who copped a plea in the Georgia case, & "Cooperated", lied to the prosecutors when he denied having an twitter accounts under aliases, because he did, & some of the stuff tweeted undercuts his claimed contribution to the election steal. So obviously his plea deal is now under threat unless he really starts cooperating.
And of course while the Traitor is appealing the civil fraud ruling, he hasn't posted a bond, so that $112k of daiy interest will keep on accruing, & the best guess is it could take a couple of years for the appeal to be ruled upon, so that could be another ~$82 million in interest !!!
You can see why he's such a brilliant businessman; sure he could get a bond, & pay a few percent for the process, but he'd rather go into the casino, & put it all on #37 black

Reading a brilliant account of D C Stephenson the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan in the 20’s. A Fever in the Heartland.
The parallels with Orange Yam Tits is more than striking.
He was a pure con man who believed if he lied big and always lied he’d achieve his aims. He was obsessed with money. He pilloried immigrants. He left a trail of debts his whole life. He was eventually brought down by another of his foibles. He was addicted to attacking and raping women, biting chunks out of them was a constant.
Eventually a woman he raped and left for dead made a statement. Her family and lawyers were threatened constantly by Klan thugs.
Every page turned you see mirrored statements and pure similarity between the two men it’s uncanny. A great book too.

Billionaire eh?..
Donald Trump's emergency request to stay the enforcement of the $350+ million judgment issued by Judge Engoron has been denied by a New York Appellate Court. As a result, Trump will have to put up a bond with the court of over $450 million given the interest that has accrued on the judgment. Earlier today, Trump argued that a stay should be granted as he could not afford to put up the entire monetary amount, and that he could only put up a $100 million bond.
If he were forced to put up the full $450+ million amount, Trump argued that he would have to begin selling property

I mean he says his flea pit golf club is worth ~$1.8 BILLION !, that should be more than enough security for a bond, & he's sooooooo confident that his appeal will succeed, so he doesn't have to worry about that anyway .....

Can they make this stick? It's currently pending appeal
Illinois judge kicks Trump off primary ballot
An Illinois judge has ruled that Donald Trump engaged in insurrection and has barred him from the state's primary ballot - though she put the ruling on hold pending an appeal. Two other states - Colorado and Maine - have removed Mr Trump from their primary ballots for violating a 14th Amendment "insurrection" clause. The final outcome will likely be decided by the US Supreme Court.
Illinois' primary election is scheduled for 19 March.
Early voting in the primary has already begun. Mr Trump - the front-runner Republican presidential candidate - will remain on the ballot until at least Friday while he has time to appeal against the order.
Cook County circuit judge Tracie Porter agreed with voters who argued Mr Trump had violated the US constitution's 14th Amendment because of his role in the 6 January Capitol riot.
It comes after Colorado's Supreme Court barred Mr Trump from appearing on the Republican primary ballot in December, arguing Mr Trump's actions during the 2021 Capitol riot amounted to insurrection.

They took 2 weeks to even decide to hear the case. They're clearly running interference for their Orange Jesus, and trying to push the trial date beyond the election.
Which would deprive American voters of candidate information they're entitled to get before casting their votes...
...but this MAGA majority SCOTUS doesn't give a fuck. Barely even pretending to be apolitical anymore.
For purposes of comparison, SCOTUS took less than a week to start hearing the 2000 election case of Bush and Gore, so they can more quickly if they want toGumboot wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:17 amThey took 2 weeks to even decide to hear the case. The negative for Trump about all these delay tactics is that if he does not win the election, everything is going to come down crushing on him at once, he is throwing all his eggs in one basket hoping he wins the lection. I would think there is no way he can win the election, but the way the USA is going, that's unfortunately not a given.

It's a calculated decision. The polls are very clear, he has a slim chance of winning the election, but if he has a conviction on any of the charges against him, that slim chance disappears.bok_viking wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 9:49 am The negative for Trump about all these delay tactics is that if he does not win the election, everything is going to come down crushing on him at once, he is throwing all his eggs in one basket hoping he wins the lection. If you want to judge how good his chances are of winning, just look at the GOPs finances !, the donors are deserting them, because they know there's no chance of backing losers, & the impact will go all the way down the ballot, as if you can't campaign for the Presidency, then there certainly no money for dog catcher.
What. The. Actual. Fuck.....
$100 to the person who can tell me what this means:
"I could tell you about aircraft carriers, where they use electric catapults. They couldn’t go to the steam, which works better for about 1/100th the price, you know? The electric catapult, you know that story? I could tell you about the elevators on a tremendous carrier, the Gerald Ford, and they decided not to use hydraulic like the John Deere tractor, they decided to use magnets, “we’re gonna use magnets!” to lift up the elevators with seven planes. We need them fast, these massive elevators. They used magnets, they wanted to try it for the first time. This was a ship that was supposed to cost 2.5 billion, it cost 19 billion and didn’t work, and still doesn’t work right. They had a $900 million cost over on these stupid electric catapults that didn’t work. They had almost a billion dollar cost over on the magnetic elevators. Think of it, magnets. Now all I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets. Why didn’t they use John Deere? Why didn’t they bring in the John Deere people? Do you like John Deere? I like John Deere."

I get the part where he's saying he understands steam (it could easily have been a wheel, or a wall perhaps) and thus he's comfortable in looking back at things he considers he understands, and he wants to avoid looking forwards because he's proud to be backwards and doesn't want to expose his ignorance. Why he continues on in such fashion about magnets I don't know, it's not even clear if he thinks it's dropping glass or water on a magnet is the issue, or even why it would be, he's just made his pitch about not wanting others to go beyond his vision, and then he wanders off over the horizon

He has vaguely understood that the Navy went from Steam catapults to EM ones for the latest generation of carriers; but being the, "business man" that he is, he is horrified at the cost of the development. He doesn't understand that that was for the first carrier in the class, & if you want to launch an F-35 off a carrier with a full fuel & weapons load; that's the tech you have to have !!!Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 12:06 am I get the part where he's saying he understands steam (it could easily have been a wheel, or a wall perhaps) and thus he's comfortable in looking back at things he considers he understands, and he wants to avoid looking forwards because he's proud to be backwards and doesn't want to expose his ignorance. I don't know WTF he's on about about the elevators, because that's just shit he's made up in his own curdled excuse for a brain.
If he wants something to rant about, he should be the Chinese guys, who decided they wanted an EM catapult, but on the cheap, & now they spend millions, & they've built a carrier, but they don't have a working catapult, so they have the choice of launching a fighter with fuel, or with weapons, but not both, & because it's still shite, there's a good chance they'll just fire the fighter into the sea.
He really has not changed over the years. This is an excerpt from a hearing at the Scottish Parliament in 2012, when DJT was trying to force the government o cease construction of offshore windmills.
Trump repeated his stark warning during yesterday's hearing, noting, "Wind turbines, made in China, are going to be the destruction - almost a total destruction - of your tourism industry," the Daily Mail reported.
Asked what evidence he has to support his claim that tourists will stay away in droves, Trump delivered his punch line in true Donald form, as captured on BBC Radio's The World Tonight program (go to April 25 installment and skip ahead to 6 minutes 58 seconds to listen to the account):
"Well first of all, I am the evidence. I think I'm more of an expert - " (Laughter erupts, and Trump rises to the occasion). "You know what? I think I'm a lot more of an expert than the people that you'd like me to hire who are doing it to make a paycheck. But I am an expert in tourism. I am considered a world class expert in tourism. So when you say where is the expert and where is the evidence, I'm the evidence.

Trump’s speeches in North Carolina and Virginia went something like this:
1. Woman sings national anthem forgets the words.
2. Man attempts to say pledge and forgets the words.
3. Song by incarcerated J6 insurrectionists plays.
4. Trump takes stage, praises insurrectionists and calls them hostages.
5. Trump calls Biden Obama.
6. Trump says he calls people the wrong names in speeches on purpose.
7. Trump says Jack Smith “stinks”
8. Trump makes sex gestures discussing Fani Willis and Nathan Wade.
9. Trump can’t pronounce many words and can’t complete full sentences so he sighs and goes “ahhh.”
10. Trump says Biden looks like hell.
11. Trump whines about the 2020 election.
12. Trump says he took classified docs because he says he can do whatever under then Presidential records Act (he can’t).
13. Trump says the GOP is 100 percent MAGA now and they don’t want moderates.

He's going to make the most of this then...
The U.S. Supreme Court just unanimously reverses Colorado's decision to take Trump off the ballot.
It means that all states will have to let Trump participate in this year’s presidential election.
He will, though it's hardly surprising, Trump hasn't been convicted of anything yet and a dangerous precedent to let states do this.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 5:27 pm He's going to make the most of this then...

Is that wrong, or is there simply no time/model to have the fat, lying, thieving, corrupt, racist, feckless, insurrectionist, threat to national security removed for being who he is?

With the Supreme Court ruling that only Congress - and not individual states - can enforce Section 3 to block a candidate from federal office, at least one Democrat is already paying attention.
Maryland lawmaker Jamie Raskin, one of the most vocal anti-Trump voices in Congress, told CNN earlier that he is "working with a number of my colleagues... to revive legislation that we had to set up a process by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified by Section 3".
"The House of Representatives already impeached Donald Trump for participating in insurrection by inciting it," he noted.
Raskin was one of the Democratic 'impeachment managers' who prosecuted the case in its trial phase before the Senate, which ultimately voted to acquit Trump.

Only Congress can do it, or Congress needs to establish the means by which States can do it?
If they've really gone for States' rights that's actually interesting, and for myself I'm not necessarily alarmed, possibly even encouraged

Glad Haley didn't cravenly endorse the traitor; she owed it to her supporters to not do a reverse ferret at this stage, after drawing on their desire for an alternative that wasn't an orange traitor !
She's still in prime position to step into the nomination if he gets eliminated somehow, with more delegates than meatball, & after winning two states now.
Tomorrow will be a big day for the traitors businesses, with the E Jean Carroll judgement being due, so either a bond is posted in the ~$91 million amount, or next week her lawyers can start seeking to seize properties & goods to that value. That it's got this late in the day, & his lawyers have made three failed attempts to stay the judgement, or delay the bond speaks to how financially fucked he is; I think the speculation that he has a gargantuan amount of debt, no cash, & everything is tied up as security is dead right; it explains why he can't even finance the much smaller judgement, because if he tries doing anything to free up some cash, the whole jenga tower of debt could collapse.
