Is Lord in line for an All Blacks? He's looked like an absolute bastard to play against whenever I've seen him. I know he was on the edge of the squad...

He already has a couple of test caps. Smart as well as strong - great at holding the ball-carrier up in the tackle to win a maul turnover.

Looked good playing for 'Naki. ABs is a huge step up from that though.

I missed the word "career". I saw he had a couple of caps, just wondering if he's considered a real live option to be a Test mainstay.

Not sure yet, but he looks to have all the tools. He and Tupou Vaa'i could end up being the regular test combo. Quinten Strange was selected in 2020 iirc, but got injured before playing a test and hasn't really been in the frame since. Pari Pari Parkinson also may well have been capped by now but for an untimely injury that put him out for a year. Another youngster I rate highly is Sam Darry.

Is it bad luck, or bad following of protocols leading to this?

Edit. I see it was The Force who pulled out last minute...

Looking forward to the Chiefs-Tahs game. I suspect there will be more parity in this seasons trans-tasman clashes. Are they playing 20min red card rules?

There seems to be a shitload of red cards in this comp. All justified to be honest. Sam Cane is a poster boy for why red cards need to be enforced and the why the 20 minute card is a joke.

The strict head protocols result in a shitload more red cards but also the 20 minute red is a joke?

Righto mate, I'm sure that made sense in your head.

Had to watch rest on catch up.

Tahs have to be quite pleased with that. Showed decent attacking options, overshadowed Chiefs at the breakdown and were ahead in the aerial battle.

Imagine Enz was having kittens. Gatland is out of his depth at this level.

Just a little - but I knew Chiefs B would get up.

Just finished watching a replay as I went out last night. Well done to our tighties and they provided a lot of ball and space.

This Jake Gordon fella for the Tahs can play in my team anytime.

Harsh on Gats Torq - sure he threw the intercept but that was more good work from Gordon than bad work by Gats.

I thought it good game. Thought Gats was pretty ok, he not a test player, but can play well at this level.
I was pleased to see how well Jacobson went, thought he played bloody well, as did Vaií. That's a couple of Ok young 9s the Chiefs put on the field isn't it?
Gordon went well for Tahs, and thought he was doing a bit of what TJP was doning in ABs last year, in defence cruising acroo behind close behind backline and rushing up almost unseen, why he got that second intercept!

Just seen the Landers' team sheet. Has Brown lost the plot or does he think the Brumbies are sh*t? Seems a big risk to me to rest/change pretty much the entire backline as well as some fwd changes (I know Dickson is banned) in what looks a must win game.

More than just that. Some of his kicking options and execution were really poor. He did some neat stuff playing so close the gainline but this was against the Tahs,.

Blues up 28 to 18 but that will be a lot closer than they hoped.

Missed 2nd half but that result has to be the best one of the season for Drua (beating the Rebels not the toughest challenge!).

So, Drua improvement or sloppy Blues?

Two games to go and three Australian sides have scored quite a bit more than a single, solitary point against their Kiwi opposition.
