A game that Ireland controlled most of the time, except for an freak counter attack try by France and 10-15 minutes in the second half. 4 tries scored, held up 3 times. Sums it up.

Strategically, tactically and mentally, Ireland were the better team and the score reflects the gap between the two teams.
I think that's fair ish. France played a decent away game. Could have knicked it and it would have been deserved but we held our nerve to clinch it.

Take my word for it. ITV showed clear foot in touch, right at the back end of multiple angles being shown to their pundits.
Fück em. First try last year was off a forward pass and the angle only surfaced after the game.

He should never have been made to play at FB. Might as well have stuck him in at prop. I really wonder whether Galthie did it out of spite.
He was not in a fullback position to make that tackle. He was right on the defensive line with the rest of the players.
I really don't know what it is you are watching. Maybe the same TV as Galthie?

Your boys were very good.

McCloskey had his best game for Ireland. Won a crucial turnover.

Hendo and O'Toole made serious impact when they came on.

A super game of rugby. Keenan and Doris were immense. McCloskey had his best game in an Irish shirt. We were deserved winners and could have won by more. Barnes will face scrutiny after getting the two biggest decisions wrong.
I would recommend watching the game in full. The intensity of the first half was insane.

Doesn’t Earl live in England? I’ve played games at the same time as non-Ireland games to be able to watch the Ireland game in the clubhouse.

Do you have the picture of the tackle? Still doesn't explain why he doesn't complete his tackle.

That being said, I agree he is not a fullback and shouldn't play there.

What did you think of his kicking length compared to Ntamack?

Two bad decisions today but France up on balance, red in this sort of contest worth more than the 5 from the Lowe try.

So you were wrong?

It's easy to explain why he missed the tackle
- he's not a great defender
- which was made worse by him playing out of position and precisely why it was cretin stuff by Galthie to make that positional change.

It was a 3 on 1 and even though Ireland had compressed it, Ringrose would have offloaded and they would have scored anyway.

Jalibert has way more length on his kicks than Ntamack. Off the floor or out of hand. As was shown by the 2 kicks to touch that backed one another. Ntamack's made bugger all m before the next one was handed to Jalibert. Read the T14 thread: at least in England, Ntamack has been rumbled for the spoofer he is.

Any decent attacking back should fancy his chances of beating the first defender from that position, if the pass is any way good. And Doris’ pass was very good.

The Mayo man was on another planet.

Both tight heads were great, probably the nicest surprise of the tournament.

Conor Murray should not have been playing, he was on another planet. The bench, including Casey, being so good was a decider.

Well done France, backs especially had us falling over ourselves.

You were by far the better team. For every giant performance (e.g. Penaud) there was a dismal showing (e.g. Willemse). You had great performances but not really anyone who didn't at least do a passable job. In toto, that was a gulf. Too many passengers.

The massively frustrating and infuriating thing is some of us know how good the backs could be (and they are missing the best wing in the world in Villiere and the critical go forwards of Danty) IF they had a f**king FH who didn't cripple them at every opportunity.

Touching the grass after the grounding was way later on. And no where near the touch line... the ball was a foot in the air before being grounded at the point he touched the ground...
