Doesn't matter that it isn't his fault - it's an issue that can be made worse by having a vacuum at heart of Government - which is what we were discussing.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 8:58 am Struggling to understand how inflation is Boris' fault - unless he's managed to screw it up for multiple countries.

No dispute with that here, he should have gone months ago, just pointing out for all his sins sticking inflation at his door seems unreasonable. Maybe I misread the initial post.Ovals wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:55 amDoesn't matter that it isn't his fault - it's an issue that can be made worse by having a vacuum at heart of Government - which is what we were discussing.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 8:58 am Struggling to understand how inflation is Boris' fault - unless he's managed to screw it up for multiple countries.

Yeah, I wasn't putting it at his door - just suggesting that it s one of the 'many' problems that need a fully functioning Government to address.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:14 amNo dispute with that here, he should have gone months ago, just pointing out for all his sins sticking inflation at his door seems unreasonable. Up to half!!!Meanwhile, the UK is still a haven for dirty money.
The head of the National Economic Crime Centre says up to half of the money laundered out of Russia goes through the UK.
He says current efforts to prosecute those responsible are “not good enough”.

Interesting thread. Tories up to their eyeballs in Russian money. Nevermind, the economic hit sanctions would have to our core industry. The sanctions aren't going to bother Putin at all considering he's spent years becoming financially important to the governing party and his oligarchs are very important to our economy. What a mess.

By giving the small fry a small slap on the back of the hand, Johnson has alerted the big fish to get their money out of London sharpish, something that Peston has noted on twitter.
I watched Liz Truss on the Beeb this am.
Seriously? How the fuck can someone so deviod of a semblance of historical or geopolitical knowledge be allowed to comment on such matters let alone be in Government.
Or worse still be the Foreign Secretary?
Its downright embarrassing ffs.

LRZ is wildly overrated. My name is Paddington Bear, welcome to my TED talk.

He's not been fit this tournament tbh.
Completely agree. One decent try against Scotland that any decent winger should be scoring and the new Messiah had arrivedPaddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:12 am LRZ is wildly overrated. My name is Paddington Bear, welcome to my TED talk.

Yep, I watched one of the interviews. How the fuck she is in Cabinet, let alone Foreign Secretary is beyond belief. A vapid lightweight in the extreme!C69 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 9:08 am I watched Liz Truss on the Beeb this am.

Foreign Secretary has become such a denuded position and Truss is a particularly egregious example. Stuff like not knowing Rostov isn't in Russia is bad on it's own terms but also betrays a lack of interest in foreign affairs full stop. It's a stepping stone to being PM and that's it. Exactly what she wants to do when she gets there, probably not a lot.

The only qualification needed for a Ministerial post right now seems to be how far you can stick your tongue up the Bumblecunts arsehole.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:40 am Foreign Secretary has become such a denuded position and Truss is a particularly egregious example. Different times and global circumstances call for different styles I guess, but looking at the last few Tory choices - dear God, I mean you need someone effective at representing the UK on the world stage and not necessarily someone likeable but what a bunch of dimwits and lightweights. If Hague was possibly the "best" then that says it all.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 1:04 pmI mean that's hardly new but there usually was a little more to Foreign Sec.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 12:00 pmThe only qualification needed for a Ministerial post right now seems to be how far you can stick your tongue up the Bumblecunts arsehole.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:40 am Foreign Secretary has become such a denuded position and Truss is a particularly egregious example. The modern right are huge virtual signallers. Fly a Ukrainian flag over the home office. Don't offer visas for the refugees. How disappointing but unsurprising from Patel and her ilk

Hi Luke, As you will be well aware there are a number of routes, not least our seasonal worker scheme you will recall from your Shadow DEFRA days, which Ukrainians can qualify for, alongside the family route for those with relatives here.
UK immigration minister saying the refugees fleeing Ukraine can apply for temporary seasonal visas to pick veg. Conservative MPs really are nasty individuals.

We're planning on handing out visas like it's going out of style; & securing ourselves, Scientists, Economists, Doctors, Teachers, etc, etc .... not fruit & veg pickers ....

So after the secretary of state for Instagram Liz Truss told people to feel free to go and fight in Ukraine the secretary of state for armed forces and former army Major James Heappey says war is horrendous do not do that.

It's also technically illegal and any Westerners captured by the Russians are a PR dream.
