How unedifying and grasping can these Saffers be? Foisting themselves where they are clearly unwanted.

Desperate.....

English jumping on the South Africa bandwagon
Premiership Rugby Chief Executive and EPCR Board member, Simon Massie-Taylor, added: “It is very exciting to have these five South African clubs joining EPCR’s tournaments. Their inclusion will take the competitions to a new level of intensity for the players and enjoyment for the fans.

“Our Premiership clubs are looking forward to playing against some of the best the southern hemisphere has to offer and matching up against players from South Africa’s Rugby World Cup 2019 winning side.

“It is a big step forward in expanding the reach of these unique and special tournaments, and bringing world-class, international club rugby to new audiences.”

He is right that the calendar would allow for the Boks to be in both the 6N and the RC.

Does that mean they wouldn’t be here for the AIs and would the B&I Lions tour there again? Just looking for silver linings.

The BiLs tour only every 12 years to SA. That won't be a big loss .

No reason why they couldn't still tour.

6N Feb to March
Lions Tour June to July
Rugby Champs August to October.

The Boks would be knackered by the end of it though

No doubt it could be crammed into the fixture list but touring SA after they’d just competed in the 6/7N seems a bit pointless. The Lions might as well tour France as well.

Let's just concentrate on winning the Six Nations, then we can see what happens with the Lions afterwards.

I think this is an appropriate thread

Parra blasts tournament chiefs after South Africa club inclusion

French No. 9 Morgan Parra says South African clubs should not be allowed to participate in European competitions.

It comes following the news that South African franchises will take part in the 2022/23 Champions Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments, with Parra's Stade Francais side due to face the Lions in Johannesburg in December.

But the scrum-half has criticised the decision to allow those from South Africa to compete in Europe's top rugby events. “I’m going to be honest: it’s a great experience for the players who are going to face these franchises but for me, it’s no longer called the Champions Cup," he told Midi Olympique. "Before, it was the European Cup – with real meaning and history, too.

“I have nothing against the southern hemisphere but today it is no longer the European Cup. Let it be called something else and say that the European Cup no longer exists. And it’s the same for the Challenge Cup, it no longer exists. For me, the two competitions should not be played with South African clubs.”
