It’s been awful. They’ve left ALL the action and drama for the last 3 mins. Even the Scarlets score came from Treviso being awful out wide... both sides should lose this.

O'Brien came into the academy at my age group when I was just leaving. As far as I remember he hadn't played rugby until he was 14, been in a south england football academy.
I don't think for a second O'Brien will ever be more than a back up pro 10, but it shows just how many of our top level athletes are snapped up by football at young ages.
On another note, if your budget is higher than all the english teams, how on earth do you end up playing half backs like blacker and O'Brien 3 games into the season. I really think welsh players salaries are far more inflated than what the market would dictate for them. Especially given no player(bar non internationals ironically) ever thrive at club level out of wales.
I look at that scarlets team and its unfathomable their squad costs more than bristol/exeter/bath/glos/wasps etc

Protheroe and williams are alright, that's about it.
What are the academies in west wales doing? When was the last time a player came through of note?
I know my Cardiff bias is huge, but we've had lloyd, sheedy, zammit, lane, tomos, carre, lewis, patchell, Seb, SLH all come through of late and the next batch of lawrence, grady, llewellyn, burnell, domachowski, bevacqua all look like theyll make good pros
Even newport has had a little contribution. is this the swansea fc success showing?

Well the Ospeys doing well to go into the break 10-12 down, Glasgow seem to have taken their foot off the gas in the last 10 of that half.

Good points, difficult to argue with any of this. Cardiff, as the capital, should be expected to lead the way... I guess it was always going to be downhill from the Gowerlacticos of however many years ago.

And just to make my point, he makes an outstanding turnover on his own line...then from the subsequent line out, misses his man, and Glasgow are back on the Ospreys line.

This has actually been a really good win for the Ospreys, even if the performance wasn't that flash. The Ospreys were a special kind of wank last season without their internationals, so any win against anyone is a big thing.
Osprey's slower but meatier pack finally got on top, and Myler has been an outstanding acquisition. Nothing special, but does all the basics well.

I called them as the region to beat, admittedly before Anscombe was lost to the season.
They're only a missing person request for Cracknell and Anscombe being fit from being a decent side, but those are two big things to change
