And tbh, that Ireland one does not merit test status. So, well done India
To be fair, if you’re not counting the Ireland one, you probably shouldn’t count some of the early ones for the saffers and Aussies.

Hashim Amla is a terrible commentator, but Sipamla is an even worse bowler.

Some really inaccurate bowling from the SA quicks. Spraying it all over the place and runs are flowing.

De Silva pulls a hip muscle taking a single and may have to go off. Here comes the medical cart.....bad luck. He was going really well.

The Aussie quicks were giving the Indian top order a torrid time in the last hour yesterday, but I was really impressed with the debutant Shubman Gill. He has a touch of class about him, and looks to have a very bright future.

Gill is only 21 and is averaging 69 across approx. 20 first class games. The way he played yesterday he looks like he could be a star. He’s new so the test might be once there’s a bit more analysis and teams develop plans for him.

Is there anything better around Christmas than the family buggering off to bed, pouring a dram of something reasonable and watching the cricket under blistering skies down under?

Watching all the catches the Aussies dropped in the Indian innings, at least our display, shocking though it was, wasn't quite as bad as theirs.

Mind you, the Lankans aren't quite the calibre of the Indians.

I think there was a graphic that showed the number of balls the Saffer bowlers bowled at the stumps and it was pitifully low. Bowling at Nortje's pace, the tail enders are never going to get close enough to get an edge so they can just watch it pass harmlessly by. Or duck it if it's short, in which case they can add the four byes to the Lankan total when de Kock doesn't reach it.

Nortje gets smacked for thirteen runs off that over. Would have been more if not for the longstop.

Langeveldt has to approach the boundary is tell his bowlers to aim at the stumps.

SA needed to fire in the first hour, they've done the opposite. Sri Lanka slapping it around like it a net session.
Piss poor.

and as I type this Sipalma gets one.

Sipamla goes back to his previous length and gets smacked for six.

Normal service resumed.

Langeveldt needs to come out of the dugout again.

Meh, neither team has a bowler who can bowl 6 in the right area. Easy runs everywhere

Sipamla's last couple of overs were more or less where they should have been bowling, certainly at the tail Ender's.

Also quite impressed with Fernando's accuracy and Kumara has some
gas.

Big day for India coming up. If Rahane can stay in, work the tail and push on towards 150 then they'll be 150 or so ahead and in a great position. But that India tail is weak, so if he's out quickly they could well all be gone in the first hour.

Oz trying to avoid an innings defeat.

6/105 and need 26 more runs to make India bat again.

This is a con to ensure they take the top 2 positions in the test ladder for the playoff.
