Surprised Willemse didn't run that one back TBH...he had one Lion in front of him and Mapimpi on the outside.
Think the kick was the wrong call.

We had Watson in acres of space there. FFS.
Warburton singing Lawes' praises. Fair play, he grew into this one.
If Russell is fit next week he plays I reckon.

I thought starting props made their presence in defense. Yes the scrums much more steady, although neither winning or losing more so little in that. I can imagine we were banking on Marx and Kitshoff having a big loose impact.
Agreed, but the Lions played stupid rugby in the first half sending runner after runner into the meat grinder.
In the seconds they've gone to their gameplan and kicked over the midfield, taking our tight five out of the game completely.

Lions maul is the difference in the second half. Boks just give away pen after pen.

It has been very strange. But the kicking might still win this.
Biggest problem is the total lack of cohesion, the Lions have largely spent this game looking confused as to where they are and what they're meant to be doing, against an opposition that's barely played a game in years.

Think he was already in the process of ripping it. Bigger problem was him then playing it while flat on the floor!

Yesa and no. They haven't caught much, but they've forced fair number of South African knock ons in the contest and been able to keep a lot of play in the Bok half.

Boks need a new plan. Shite box kicks and poor maul defence wins nothing.
Number of backline passes outside 12? Zero.
Most lethal backline since 1984 and we just kick the ball all night. Lame.

Congrats to the Lions.
Everything went pretty much exactly as I expected.
Boks have a lot of homework to do. Conditioning also a massive issue. Intensity dropped to almost nothing in the last 30 mins.

Yeah the momentum swung after half time after a couple of great box kicks by Price.
