I enjoyed the trips to Dunners. Regular participant of the Undie 500. It was in the 90’s I’d add.

Correct. As a kid my dad said to me... you can support England like me... or the All Blacks, the national rugby team of the country we now live in... I chose the All Blacks cause I liked the way they played... even as a kid... BG Williams, Bruce Robertson, Sid Going... versus Bill Beaumont... it was easy... till Foster came along...

I was a baby when my parents emigrated to NZ... 6 months old... I only came back to the UK as an adult... I still have a strong Kiwi accent...

Was at uni in Dunedin 85 to 88. I regret not visiting Christchurch more. I had heard of the undie 500... But was too busy with the various Dunedin pub crawls. Plus I couldn't drive back then...

I was a candidate for uni... but there was no actual idea of what I'd be studying. My parents weren't really all that well equipped to be parents, really.

So I went into a trade and did a mechanical apprenticeship. Wish I'd gone to uni now... as a highly opinionated, impatient and kinda arrogant good bastard, I'd have made a decent semi drunk lawyer and probably would have crashed a couple of Jags into narrow bridges.

The beer in the UK is a revelation... not warm so much as just not chilled to the max. Real ales full of flavour that room temperature serving releases in a .... delightfully moreish way.

you try banging back pints at room temperature on a 40C day and see how long you last. It takes huge kahunas to throw down 5-6 pints in the heat and stroll off casually looking for an alligator to wrestle, trust me.

Unfortunately I have yet to find an alcoholic beverage I like... I only drink to get drunk... which these days is rare. A Bailey's is ok .. but to get drunk it's usually vodka and coke. Beer just bloats me too much.

1969 was my 5th form year but I stayed on and completed the 7th form, less that I wanted to study and more that I did not have any idea of what sort of work I wanted to do. I guess I should be grateful to my parents for giving me the option of choosing to continue with school
