From what I've read, the way coronaviruses mutate means we'd be more likely to see a gradual reduction in effectiveness rather than a single mutation which snaps the vaccines to useless. Which would probably mean that it'd be a good few years before the vaccine needed to be changed.

I think it's pretty clear that there's a supply challenge right now. Whether it's manufacturing, testing, distribution, etc is less than obvious and the government aren't all that interested in sharing the detail.

No. Our headline figure is deaths within 28 days of a positive test. ONS are keeping a separate record of deaths with Covid on the death certificate, which is quite a lot worse, and then there's our excess death figure which is worse again

I've seen some sites quote 28 days and 60 days.

There has been a sizable number of patients being re-admitted and subsequently dying, some of them would fall under the 60 days but some of them are longer term.
