Of course it was. Wales were heading to the line at 50mph.

The ball had two England players wrapped around it. If it had been allowed to cross it would have been held up

Nicely done, I reckon Earl was counting on all the Welsh backrow being heads down for the shove.

Earl is on the ball so how can anyone say it was 100% leading to a try if Root hadn't dropped it?

Ball wrapped. Ball carrier bolt upright, facing away from the try line. Penalty.

Earl was on the ball on the ground. You can’t say he was while on his feet. Pen try all day long.

Ben Earl cost that. Kay praising him but they drove through the space he came from.
Agree on Earl - screwed his team there.

And then Wales screw themselves: awful game management.

Ref has to be consistent so I am expecting quick yellows for Wales.

When was the last time England didn’t give away eight million stupid penalties by half time?

Good to see England sorted out their discipline issues.

England have a long and glorious tradition of picking single digit IQ second row players who do dumb stuff.

Head contact is mostly and penalty tries are always yellows regardless if "quick" or not.

It's crazy. I can see a red from 2 yellows later.

Coles looks a bit a giraffe rather than a unit, but his height may conceal the bulk.
