Let’s not get carried away. He’ll still be a whinging plum.FujiKiwi wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:34 am The worst thing is we’re going to have to agree with Gatland’s whining at the end of the game.

Dick Mo seems to have stepped up a gear in the last 15 minutes.
He's playing very well. His goal kicking is dubious today though.ScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:40 am Dick Mo seems to have stepped up a gear in the last 15 minutes.

Chiefs were given the throw in?Kiwias wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:41 am Cruden was being a bit naughty there preventing the quick throw-in
I edited my post, even though I thought Wainui had the ball then was tackled into touchScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:42 amChiefs were given the throw in?Kiwias wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:41 am Cruden was being a bit naughty there preventing the quick throw-in

Thought crusaders went over the top and off their feet to secure it but got away with it.

Gives that as a knock on (which it was) but not the try. That was a shocking decision.

An idiot running on the field? Other than the ref.
Given how tough the ref has been at the ruck, I hope you don't mind if I disagree with your reading of it.ScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:49 amThought crusaders went over the top and off their feet to secure it but got away with it.
FujiKiwi wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:58 am Crusaders too sharp. Chiefs inconsistent. Ref a bit useless.
No need for mathematics for tomorrow's match. Blues simply need to win to keep their title hopes alive haha Title hopes. Indeed.

To be fair, we also all remember what it was like when Cruden/DMac/ALB were good and not just a tribute act of their former selvesFujiKiwi wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 9:01 am JMK was right that the Chiefs forwards wouldn't quite be up to it, and they weren't.
Oh well, well-played Saders. Hard luck, Chiefs. Not really as bad a team as their results suggest.

Last night we were work down and with 15 to go we were worn out. Losing a prop very early just put more pressure on.Turbster wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 11:54 am Bit of a malaise affecting the Chiefs, and a touch of hard luck too! Is Gats a good fit? Their recruitment has obviously been poor! What else?
The first 15 was pathetic - we kicked badly for their back three to run it at us from everywhere. The try at half time was a killer really - all that effort to blow it with another silly turnover.
I drink and I forget things.

2nd week in a row I’ve missed the game... last week it was work, this week I was in the Barossa Valley with Taranaki Snapper watching his club, Adelaide Uni win their first for the season among the vineyards. The womens’ team cleaned up as well.
Fucking excellent to get out and watch a live game complete with wives, kids, dogs and liniment on the breeze. Oh... beers too

Papalii is a 7. Frizell a 6, though I think Boshier has played 7? He’s been a 6 through Super Rugby Aotearoa.
I was envisioning Boshier at 6, Sotutu at 8 and Papalii at 7, with Frizell on the bench.
I was envisioning Savea and Cane being injured, just to make all the envisioning easier.

With Boshier in such great form the reality is that Sam Cane isn't even the best 7 at the Chiefs, let alone across all of NZ. But then again, that shouldn't surprise us as he spent years as an All Black when he was only a bench loose forward for the Chiefs playing behind Tanerau Latimer. Sam Cane really has had a charmed life as an All Black.
