That was some performance by Argentina. They completely outplayed us in every department. The senior team is going to be a handful if this lot are on their way there.
Oh and why in gods name do we insist on playing these tournaments in the Cape in winter? FFS the weather in the highveld is perfect for rugby now.

I said it during the U20 rugby championship, this year's group of baby boks are the worst its been for a while. I cannot see many of these guys, if any, making it to the senior side. There were many players in this year's Craven week that looked better than these guys. Very disappointing performance again.
They don't appear to be very well coached either. Very naïve tactics considering the weather and the style of the opposition.bok_viking wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:29 am I said it during the U20 rugby championship, this year's group of baby boks are the worst its been for a while. Louis Koen (Jnr) play as kak as his dad. Pretty sure he made the team because of his dad involvement wit Saru. Wet weather should fit his play like a glove. Jorenzo Julies was the biggest rugby talent in his schoolboy year but turned in a Durban surfer by the looks of it.assfly wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:37 amThey don't appear to be very well coached either. So the talent are there but they look coach less to be honest. They had the Australia tournament for the first time this year. Vokken no excuse for them.
Koen can hold his head up high. Jorenzo too. The scrumhalf was busy...but a busy fool. No vision. The less said about the hooker and captain the better. Our forwards were very poor, Thats where we were blikksemmed. Like embarressingly bliksemmed. The coach is also a fool. Didn't do his homework like the Argies did. Not even Currie cup quality. The structures that brought these kids through need toi take a good hard look at themselves. The junior coaches must be grovvelling in embarrasment.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:07 amLouis Koen (Jnr) play as kak as his dad. I have no complaints. Fra were repeatedly dumb in giving away some of those pens (ignoring the ref's calls repeatedly) along with Carbonneau's yellow which was ultimately the game decider.

yeah I hope the boks take the pain away today
The U18 Craven week that just concluded had better talent in it than these U20 boks from the games I watched. I will not be surprised if the boks school team beat these u20's if they had to play each other.

Just thinking of players who might be missing from the U20s for France (some might have crossed the qualifying threshold for this comp)
- Barre
- Gailleton
- Jauneau
- Attissogbe
- Nouchi
- Costes
- Depoortere
- Drouet
- Reus
all of whom are club regulars and/or with intl squad.

Expect some wet and muddy fields. Some heavy rains with snow on the mountains.
Wet and cold.....going to suite England a treat........our boys are going to have to put on their big boy pants for this oneOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 5:32 pm Expect some wet and muddy fields. Some heavy rains with snow on the mountains.
I don't know how good the drainage is on the fields but it is going to be coooold and wet at 19.00
Will get in the Proteas women at 15.30 as the curtain raiser.
Pity about their last match. Posted 177 and the Indians were too afraid to come our and bat so match abandoned.
14 degrees with 70 percent rain

Drove yesterday from Struisbaai to Paarl. Car nearly got stuck in the water. Struisbaai cut off due to floods. Then drove through burning tyre's with riots in Grabouw and got stuck in traffic close to Stellenbosch. Franshoek pass close due to snowfalls. Not sure when I will be able to go back..

I'm a little surprised that France beat South Africa to coming up with this "innovation".
Ref for eng sa was poor. Let a lot go, it didn't help with flow, it just meant players could slow things down and give penalties without fear of yellows.
