Nothing?
Teams are suppose to do one for all, stick together.
They're all wearing the t-shirt. How much virtue signalling do you need?OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 2:04 pmTeams are suppose to do one for all, stick together.
Yep they played like that. Every player on his ownAli Cadoo wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:37 pm Teams would be better supporting each other whatever their views are. Well done, Sale.
No, they didn’t play like that, genius. If they’d supported each other more they would have played better, with more continuity. More support lines, quicker rucks, etc.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 4:35 pmYep they played like that. Do you watch much rugby?
Not uncommon for Sale even prior to the team ever so slightly differentiating in their presentation of marking anti-racist sentiment.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 6:04 pmI watched many of that Sales players since school days.Ali Cadoo wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 4:45 pmNo, they didn’t play like that, genius. They played kak.
Would've been more impressive if he'd not chucked in a ref whinge.Ali Cadoo wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 6:26 pm True. I thought Dimes’ comment afterwards that they remained a good team only on paper and not on grass was laudable. Still, it was only a first hit out.
But ... I compare the game to the opening SRA game in NZ and weep for my NH cousins.Hal Jordan wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 8:41 pm Wahey! We won!

It was poor, very poor. But I remember the opening SRA game was poor too. A penalty ridden rusty affair.Enzedder wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 7:35 pmBut ... I compare the game to the opening SRA game in NZ and weep for my NH cousins.Hal Jordan wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 8:41 pm Wahey! We won!

Forgive them Lord for they know not what they are missing.
We've had shit games in SR NZ too. But more importantly:Enzedder wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 7:35 pmBut ... I compare the game to the opening SRA game in NZ and weep for my NH cousins.Hal Jordan wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 8:41 pm Wahey! We won!

SR NZ: 3 month gap between SR and SR NZ
Premiership: 5 month gap between matches in the Premiership and a much longer lockdown & social distancing than NZ meaning much less time together
SR NZ: Opening game not played in a monsoon after a heatwave
Premiership:![]()
Bad games can happen but dick-waving from the Southern Hemisphere isn't needed here.
Won't be any journalists left soon either.Ali Cadoo wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2020 6:48 pm I dunno, I like Dimes - I’m not aware of any players ever expressing any negativity towards him... a few journalists, maybe, but no players. Obvs, I’m prepared to be corrected on that!

The surprise is more the fact that Steve Diamond called him up and seems to have threatened himMargin__Walker wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2020 3:31 pm Not watched the video, but Faletau was completely anonymous on Saturday. Don't remember his name being mentioned on comms.
It's not him, it's a podcaster he knows. Still a good impression :D.

FFS. They weren't refusing to do the virtue signalling ....it wasn't mandatory. Are they saying that not doing it means black lives don't matter? It's fucking stupid.notfatcat wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 10:30 amhttps://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/rugby ... n-england/Sports minister Nathi Mthethwa has asked SA Rugby to make a pronouncement on the actions of eight South African players who refused to kneel in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement ahead of a match that was played in England at the weekend.
South African Ministers are not renowned for their brains. Our history of Sports Ministers is particularly poor.MSG# wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 11:26 amFFS. If people want to do it then let them. I won't be bowing to the gods of political correctness unless i want to, or if it's made compulsory in which case it becomes a meaningless gesture. And certainly not because some yank killed another yank - as appalling as that was.
Fair call. Agree entirely. Though I loathe the phrase "virtue signalling"!!!MSG# wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 2:27 pmIf people want to do it then let them. Could be a factor but not all saffers are religious and some have kneeled for BLM (our cricketers at home, almost all the white players in this case). Besides there was a Scot, Welshman and Tuilagi also who didn't kneel. I would suggest that those players that did not kneel are more of the opinion thal ALL lives matter in general.sockwithaticket wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 6:09 pm Goode seemed pretty certain on his pod that the Saffas were standing as a religious thing, they only kneel for God.
He was only talking about those specific Saffers rather than speculating on anyone else.Amethyst wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 6:17 pmCould be a factor but not all saffers are religious and some have kneeled for BLM (our cricketers at home, almost all the white players in this case).
