Heh, a question for the legal eagles. If a president has the power of pardon then does another president have the power to unpardon?

Nope.

Although I've no idea if prosecutors could re-prosecute.

I'm wondering if certain people in New York and elsewhere might wait until Trump is no longer president before looking again at certain offences.

The obvious question is: aren't there rules and regulations in place governing blatant and obvious conflicts of interest?
Even if there are, Trumps previous administration and his previous statements mean they’ll ride over them and carry on regardless. If it’s turns out to be criminal, Trump will pardon everyone and tell them to continue.
My question was rhetorical in spirit, as I expected pretty much what you described.

Second term and even if he changes term limits somehow, he probably won't be able to go for another so he'll never need to sell reelection ever again.

Which offences?

Statute of limitations is going to be highly problematic, unless there's some slim chance he continues to commit fresh crimes at a state level

The actual answer is that Senate Repulicans are blocking the appointment of a new chief ethics law enforcement officer so that Trump can install his own crony.

Also :Department of Government Efficiency = D.O.G.E. as Musk himself has Tweeted.

It's going to be time to nail wooden boards across America and paint a red cross on it. It would be laughable if it wasn't such a human tragedy in the long term.

The irony that a man who thinks he should get paid $40 billion has been put in charge of efficiency.

Twitter going down the shitter is all the fault of the meanie big boys who wouldn't stump up for the advertising space.

I'll admit I've lost track of where his antitrust suit has gone, it could even have been laughed out of court by now.

It's almost definitely what they are taking efficiency to mean, lots of sackings followed by lots of resignations as it becomes a shit show.

So what are the odds of someone in Trump's cabinet not lasting through 2025?

Compare the rabble that's being assemble vs. Biden's stable group with genuine rock stars in it like Jina Riamondo :lolno:

Presumably all government officials will be efficiently driving about in those stockpiled, un sellable Teslas in a few months.

I'm betting on somebody not making it to the end of 2024, i.e. gone before they even get into office.

He will be fine. Kicking back watching Fox till 12 when he steps out to tell his minions what do from what he’s seen on the news, then goes to implement his latest cash scheme while Miller and co get on with running things. He’ll be untouchable until the mid-terms.

Nope. Agreed, getting in any way emotional would not be productive either.

Pensively watch and wait for things to go bang is probably ahead on points at the minute. Won't expect a long wait, this will get messy.

Yep. The only real thing that’ll stop them is if they over play their hand and do something so egregious some moderate Republicans join with the Dems. Probably be a moderately chilly day in the naughty place for that to happen though.

I don't know. He has the whole world laughing at him - apart from those poor buggers in the US. There's nothing else we can do, to be honest.

They don't exactly have a huge pool of competent individuals to fish in - most of the sensible Republicans have deserted ship or wouldn't pledge undying loyalty to the Orange Gibbon. It has strong parallels to the death throes of Tory Party where, after the Blonde Bbumbelcunts purge of the party, if you could stand up, talk and didn't have a record of sexual abuse/fraud etc then you were given a ministerial position or even Co-Chair of the Party. It won't end well for Trumps reign but there again he doesnt give a shit about that, all he wants is to stay out of jail and make loads of more money from the state.

Maybe I'm not understanding what Infowars is but have they just paid money for a YouTube channel that has the name Infowars?
How does this help? Jones will just start up a different channel and his fan base will move over there.

The only thing about the current situation in the US is that they're lucky Trump's not a chunk smarter than he is. At least the writing is on the wall when you appoint a Putin apologist as intelligence director. There are going to be some interesting Senate hearings.

It won't be in his name, & if it earns any money then that will go to the families too, as selling everything isn't going to discharge the debt he owes
