He gave the Boks 50m advantages all game and nothing to the ABs. Found technical faults that defied description at times… but he didn’t cost the Boks the game. Lack of fitness did that.

It takes the gloss of those smart ass comments last week suggesting Chieka would be the next ABs coach.

Yes indeed. Wide open.
And Argies were very close to taking that first game last week.

Bloody enjoyable evening of rugby when I don't care who wins. Lots of strengths and equal amounts of weaknesses in all 4 sides

Would depend if you saw the replay without knowing the outcome.
Can't believe you wouldn't have peeked first and thus missed the roller-coaster twist in fortunes which made the win even sweeter.

And it was more than a "good" win given that you passed up ABs-Boks at Ellis Park as you thought it a hopeless cause.

It was a much improved performance and a pleasing result, but it was hardly Agincourt.

It probably gives Fozzie another couple of games grace.

It was a much better performance; It isn't the way you want to run a team, where at any stage you might have to sack the coach, & if you wait long enough, it's a hospital pass to any successor

I was very impressed with that AB performance. Some phenomenal individual efforts. They are back.
I am even more concerned that the boks are on a very slippery slope ATM.
Argentina are looking strong. And well coached. Could easily lose one here. Kicking everything is going to bite us here.
Australia, beyond the result yesterday, are also looking good. We could easily end up bottom of the log

Eisch.....supporters are going hard at Nienaber and Rassie.
I suppose that when you promise the world and don't deliver they are going to be coming for you. Watching the NZ response to last week, imagine that times 12. We are just as passionate about our rugby.

This whole thing started with the Welsh tour. We are arrogant and could field 2 teams to beat any team in the world. Then the entire " B " team gets scrapped and we are back to the up and under game plan that gets you a 50/ 50 return. Against the most disrupted ABs in the history of the game.

Looks like an interesting week of self analysis ahead.

For giggles I found this gem on fb...

" my man of the match, a true iron man of the sport.
Stopped a rampaging Caleb Clarke with his own face , in the process knocking his head all the way to the Kalahari.
The doctor asked him if he was going to be OK, and reached out to his hand. Little did the doctor know he would be getting a chiselled high five. "

That's very good

The Boks looked to be missing Faf's precision with the kick. Fredericks seemed to try to play the same game but his kicking was pretty poor for the most part. Fans are a fickle bunch... there's some gushing going on over the ABs performance and Fozzie's talents. One good game and people forget three years of kak.

I cannot believe the Boks gave up so many scoring opportunities by not taking their kicks. Did it make the difference?

Sadly they believed their own press and thought that they could bully your forwards again.

That sadly never happened.

Oh well two weeks break and the log all square. Important win for the All Blacks and suddenly all is normal again.

Springbokke have a lot of pressure and will need a special performance to knock over the Wallabies in Australia.

Yep, and whenever the defence had time to get some structure Clarke was positioned inside the sideline defender, who was often Jordie.

Despite what many neutrals saw as an exceptional refereeing performance – Springboks fans and even a former player have gone after Luke Pearce in the wake of their shock defeat to the All Blacks in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Watching it again and Rieko Ioane made a blistering break down the left touch in the 71st minute, was tackled and looked to be isolated but Mo'unga had actually pretty much kept pace with him and was there to bind onto the Bok defenders, protecting the ball for the ABs.

Richie has some serious wheels

Rieko made a couple of crucial intercepts - nothing fancy close quarters shutting down short passes stuff.
