Markham and Bavuma has been excellent. Hope they finish the job.
Weather forecast storms and heavy rain in London overnight
Hopefully all clear for start tomorrow and the proteas can do it
Will mean a lot for cricket in SA. The sport has gone through the gutters in SA. But we always have the schoolboy structures to bring through talent like rugby.

History suggests this thing's still eminently chokeable, boet.
But I hope you finally get the monkey off your backs. You've had the rough side of the sandpaper for far too long.

Awesome result for the Saffers after so much hurt for so long.
A bit like our 2011 result in the RWC

Yes, thought about that.
The way our batters handled Lyons was important. Warne use to break us in the 2 innings. This group play a lot in India.
Sadly test cricket is dying. We need to break through in the mik rn moer versions aswell.
There is some exciting youngsters like Luandre Pretorius , Dewald Brevis and Kwena Mapakwa coming through

I saw somewhere that his record in his first ten tests as captain is 9 wins and one draw. Bloody impressive stuff.

South Africa were allocated as the Home Team so Markram and Rabada's achievements at Lord's will go the Home Honours Boards normally reserved for England players.

Rabada is only the 2nd player to be on both home and away honours boards (Gordon Greenidge is the other)

Seems some people remember how to play test cricket. In the Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh test match, Mushfiqur was at the crease for eight and a half hours, Shanto five and a half, Das three, Missanka nearly six.
Proper cricket, bitches.

Huge series kicking off tomorrow at Headingley tomorrow. India’s monster batting line up is going to take some beating.
Must admit I’m very uncomfortable with the renaming of the Pataudi Trophy after Jimmy Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar, as much as I love and admire both men. It means the next generation of cricketers will have never heard of Pataudi and encourages constant renaming of things that ought to generate their own heritage.

I hadn't heard about that. It's disgusting.
Let's. Rename the ashes the Borde-Botham trophy while we're at it, shall we?
Nothing represents the BCCI and World Cricket more than this imo.

Sky’s cricket coverage is by far the best around for any sport, it leaves rugby in the shade and makes watching a real pleasure

Bowl an offie for 21 overs and still only manage 85 overs in an extended day.

It probably looked a lot more dangerous than it turned out to be, or England's bowlers were utter shite.

Away from the pro game, I took my 650th wicket for my club this afternoon. Took my first aged 11 having arrived to score with the kit in the car ‘just in case’, caught at cover by my Dad. Celebrated the 650th with a couple of quick pints then back home for an evening of nappy changes. Two decades or so well spent.
And yes, the big one was a rank half volley caught on the boundary, no pictures in the scorebook.

Congrats PB - that's a great achievement all with the one club.
Lord knows how many wickets I earned over the decades. I was in too many clubs as I transferred with the bank numerous times. It wasn't 650 though.

But seriously, well done.
