2024 Springbokke
The problem with Libbok/Sasha is who plays 10 at the Stormers? Sasha won't pick up enough gametime at 10 playing in the URC, so he'll be green every time the Boks come around. Likewise Willemse and Gallant are 12 and 15 starter options for Dobson. Someone is going to lose out.

As long as Jurie Matthee don't come close to the team. I'll rather have the Prince.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 3:13 pm The problem with Libbok/Sasha is who plays 10 at the Stormers? Ja, agree on Manie and Sacha. With Sacha's 8-10 week layoff, Manie is going to have a massive head start and SFM won't be available to November at all. At best he'll be back early Feb 2025.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 3:13 pm The problem with Libbok/Sasha is who plays 10 at the Stormers? And then it gets even more complicated than that because Willemse isn't the default option at 12 either. Dobbo played him at 15 over the weekend while Dan du Plessis played 12 and was captain. Maybe when Moerat gets back he'll take the captain's armband, but until then, if Dan is going to be captain we have to assume he'll get the 12 jersey by default, meaning Willemse will be playing more minutes at 15 than 12.
Just like Rassie, it seems like Dobbo has a bit of a conundrum in how to accommodate the wealth of talent at his disposal. So he has to distribute so gametime among:
10. Manie, Willemse, SFM, Jurie Matthee, JL Du Plessis
12. D Du Plessis (C*), Willemse, SFM
13. Nel, Simelane
15. Gelant, Willemse, SFM
If it weren't for Manie, Willemse and SFM's involvement with the Boks, I'd have cut loose Matthee and JL Du Plessis immediately, but given the likelyhood of losing all 3 of them to Bok duty in September, November and June and then again for their SARU mandated mandatory rest period in Feb/March, poor Dobbo needs to carry that dead weight and somehow give them so gametime as well. It's a huge mess and I don't like our chances this season. I'm mentally preparing myself for a wooden spoon.

Such a pity that Ireland isn't on that list. Then we could shut them up for a while.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 11:53 am Sunday, 10 November: Scotland vs SA (Murrayfield, Edinburgh)

Yes it would be great to play Ireland more often than we do, but letting this rivalry simmer for another year, while URC rivalries also add some fuel to the fire, can only be good for when we do eventually clash again.

Agree re Masuka. I hope he hasn't lost interest because Rassie snubbed him but we call it what it is. He has been crap. Just hope he doesn't go all ghey on us like Willemse

Jokes aside, don't let it bother you too much. Tolerance should be something you always teach your kids Sards, don't be too quick to judge.Sards wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:04 pmI wish I had made a copy of that fb short. You would be goingLoveOfTheGame wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:01 pm

Thanks Chilli.
Yeah its been a rollercoaster. First that weekend away.
Then a party this saturday which I was not in the mood for....sunday I was useless to all mankind just wanting to die in peace.
My highlight for me was the lamb curry my wife made for me last night. That was proper and the best thing about my birthday for me.
Cheers LOTG.......Unfortunately birthdays don't mean as much to me as my wife still. Thats what you get for marrying 15 years younger.
It's my age dude. I grew up in a different world.LoveOfTheGame wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:24 pmJokes aside, don't let it bother you too much. But I am not a racist......Thats great.
One of the oupas that comes to the cricket just cant help himself...totally embarressing
You do realise that that totally embarrassing oupa uses that exact same excuse to justify his racism?
It's just his age. He also grew up in a different world.
Funny that.
I don't care what you think dude. And no one can tell me that I don't do a lot for my boys. I am always there for them and my boys have done a lot more than most kids have done at their age. Anyway, it's pointless having this chat with you as it doesn't apply. And I don't give a vok what other people do. So you can suck my eggs.
I am grateful that I grew up in my era.

And that racist oupa also doesn't care what you think. Nobody can tell him he doesn't do a lot for his grandchildren. Hell none of my grandparents ever attended any of my school events. Granted they lived on the other side of the country, but I'm just illustrating a point.
Why is it pointless and why doesn't it apply? I'm genuinely curious.
I'm sure you don't and that you are. But hey, at least you aren't racist, so that's progress I suppose...if each generation can just be a little bit more tolerant than the next, we'll get there eventually.
