Saw that he was asked about it ... "are they still in business" ... as if he wasn't wanking himself furiously over being 'person of the year'.

Justified in that case as Trump had absconded to Mar-a-Largo with hundreds of boxes of security-sensitive government documents and had instigated an attempt to overthrow the results of the election.

Biden did restrict security briefings to Trump. Don't know if that amounts to full removal of security clearance though.

Democracy watch -

Democrat Congress people being blocked from entering certain departments DOGE is ransacking (USAID, Education)

Departments investigating Musk/his businesses shuttered (USAID - Starlink, Office of Federal Contract Compliance [Depart Of Labour] - Tesla)

Trump's nominee for FBI director is found to have been taking money from a Russian production company that's made Kremlin propaganda

In other MAGA news
Another of the Jan 6 brownshirts has been arrested following their pardon - this time for soliciting sex from a minor.

It's also emerged that one of Musk's little minions was previously fired from a cyber security company for leaking secrets and Musk has made a point of rehiring the one who resigned over their incredibly racist social media activity being exposed.

Trump doing it is just tit for tat nonsense. It's incredible that the need to restrict his access and briefings wasn't a bigger story. Besides that illegal sequestering of classified information to his private residence by the box load, his presidency oversaw a massive uptick in killed, captured or disappeared CIA assets, not least in Russia. And that was after he explicitly demanded that information.

Plenty of people had classified information that was requested to be returned. Only one person attempted to not to return the information.

Trump has issued an executive order saying that they’ll put a plan in place to make a group of refugees welcome in the United States.

Which group?

And Vance has also defended the racist, calling for him to be reinstated ... despite his "normalize Indian hate" post ... and Vance's own wife/kids having Indian heritage. :wtf:

I'd agree there are plenty of worse things to get worked up about regards Trump, I was simply making the point Trump wasn't charged because he had classified information, he was charged because of his conduct in attempting to prevent their return - when plenty of people had documents requested returned including Biden and did so without any fuss or drama. Saying Biden also had classified documents he had to return is just another false equivalence that seems to follow his orangeness around.

Trump raged in his order that South Africa’s government is seizing “ethnic minority Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation” and enacting “countless government policies designed to dismantle equal opportunity” in employment, education and business.

Odd thing that happened to us over the last 24 hours. Flying to Miami via London. BA on the London flight and Virgin on the US trip. All booked together via travel agent. We were completely unable to check in online despite a number of calls to the travel agent and both respective airlines. Turns out that the new administration have insisted that anyone traveling to the US can only check in physically and this has caught all the airlines off guard.

I know it's social media and a substantial number of Americans are complete idiots, but saw a woman on Threads wailing about how white South Africans have had their land stolen and aren't even allowed to go to school.

I told her to Google (one of the few names I know, because of the rugby) Paarl Gimasium. I know things are way more complex than this or that, but sounds like many people believe it's like Gaza for Afrikaaners.

I always assumed there were around 3.5 billion stupid idiots on the planet, but had to wait for social media to prove it to me.

Next step of overthrowing democracy. Significant step is to remove the power of the judiciary.

Judges apparently aren't allowed to block trump's executive orders.

This is something we saw a lot from the Johnson and Sunak version of the Tory party. Railing against the establishment while occupying perhaps the highest and most influential part of it.

It' was meaningless contrarian rhetoric anyway considering the conservative sway over the Supreme Court and the numbers of congressmen and senators they have, but they're not going to amend it even having secured the executive branch

I didn't realize they wouldn't be able to expand the house, but would bump other reps out to include Canadian ones. Trudeau should troll back with the numbers he rolls out. You don't want us, because it'd end the Republican Party. Even with his 35% Conservative he tosses out, a good number of them are closer to centre, and there's a new Future Party looking to steal some of them back to toward the middle. (Not to mention conservatives I know think Trump's a dangerous moron.)

I was wondering why you would name drop me on this particular subject but then I remembered that you are just a full of wit honne kak troll.

Regardless, I do have a few acquaintances that are considering it and one colleague that is leaving end of March. He was afforded the opportunity long before Trump got elected though.

Personally, I can't afford it. Even though this proclamation from the yank president makes it easier, it's still not that cheap. Also having to leave my girls behind to fend for themselves for at least a year, coming home for a few months and then heading back over for another year would break me.

Great opportunity for young single people though. Go, earn ten times you could potentially get here for driving a tractor, learn new/other ways of doing things. Come back with a solid background and enough dollars in your pocket to set you up. I don't see what's wrong with that.

This is real scary stuff and I have no doubt they are serious in their intent. If they get away with this then all the guardrails have been dispensed with and even more dangerous chaos will ensue, exactly what the nutters want! Dont say you weren't warned - they wrote it all down in Project 2025!

Then they'll deny 2025, except for the fact that the co-author has now been made budget chief.

You don't know me from a horse's teeth and yet you make statements about me on here. Now I know it's a troll post and by any standard a very bad troll post, but I felt compelled to put you in your place because it's a subject that hit's close to home. After they hacked all my animals to death, murdered my dogs and burned my farm down to the ground in front of me, I considered it strongly to immigrate. I ended up staying and started over from scratch because this is my country as much as anyone ells.
