Any trade deal with the US will mean crushing much of the UK agri sector to get it over the line. It's possible to compete against US agri, but not without economy of scale which the UK doesn't have. Agri is one of the key parts of any trade deal the US makes. The UK doesn't look like it's getting a US trade deal any time soon, but you can bet these "Thatcherite" candidates would destroy any industry to get it over the line asap, regardless of any economic value it has.

The UK countryside generally can be sold to frackers (probably on the same low tax and low state ownership model as North Sea oil, which has proven to be inferior to Norway's high tax and state ownership model). The "Thatcherite" candidates will copy what Thatcher actually did here for a change.

If they can find anything more to sell they will.

I agree. I corrected my maths in that post, because the source I was using was incorrect on the Truss votes, so Mordaunt has the most momentum behind her too.
