Zero commitment from the Fijian in every aspect so far sums up MH.

Again. Fijian's effort to tackle. Is he expecting to be paid?

What is with Montpellier? They seem to be a team that always plays below the sum of their parts and it's been like that across multiple different coaches. They're a more expensive, worse version of Bath.

Better, JGP gets a try, & Leinster are going thru Montpellier at will in the center

Worst aspects of a squad of mercs which is capped off by some of the worst coaching in France........ which is a very low bar under which to limber. Why anyone would pay to watch their bastardised version of safa grind-ball is beyond me?sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:16 pm What is with Montpellier? I guess I just don't understand how that has managed to be the case for as long as I can remember and under several different coaching regimes. You'd have thought one of them might have tried a different approach at some point.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:22 pmWorst aspects of a squad of mercs which is capped off by some of the worst coaching in France........ which is a very low bar under which to limber. You read way too much into this. This is a joke MH selection which can't even be arsed to put in any effort.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:20 pm I think the Leinster players are as pissed about the last non-match as me

They look well up for giving it a lash, equally Montpellier don't look like they want to be there.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:20 pm I think the Leinster players are as pissed about the last non-match as me

Altrad. Need I say more? Tried to do the same with Toulon i.e. buy success. - whatever else about Bernie the Crook, Toulon built a real team ethos: ironically a siege mentality borne from the dislike from all other quarters at their own band of mercs
- Toulon is a rugby city. Montpellier is a wendyball city.

And for a brief moment, Toulon bought in the right people like Wilkinson, Van Niekerk and Giteau who seemed to want to forge a team rather than just be a bunch of guys picking up a pay cheque.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:27 pmAltrad. Yes. The likes of Wilkinson forged that and guys like Henson were given short thrift when they thought it was a pension holiday or wanted to run around showing off their egos.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:32 pmAnd for a brief moment, Toulon bought in the right people like Wilkinson, Van Niekerk and Giteau who seemed to want to forge a team rather than just be a bunch of guys picking up a pay cheque.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:27 pmAltrad. Getting hammered but keep kicking the ball away to give Leinster immediate repossession. PSA tactical genius.

Half time score would be considered a hammering at full time. Morbidly curious to see how ugly this can get.

Its pretty much an unopposed training run now, and as long as Leinster can cut out all the unforced errors they made in the first half, they should be able to run up a cricket score.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:08 pm When Leinster string the passes together; it's beautiful to watch

Yeah I'm wondering if we might hit the century at this rate. Has the top tier of Europe ever had a game where one team scores 100 points?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:12 pmWell my 60+ is looking a long way shy now. Every score Leinster get; makes the 28 - 0 result Montpellier, was gifted look, look even more absurd.

Don't know why you keep harping on about that. All of those 28-0s have been ridiculous. They are not like the pools panel where it's an attempt to rationalise what the score might have been but an arbitrary penalty. No-one with an interest in rugby supported that call. Don't overplay your victim/sympathy card.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:19 pm Every score Leinster get; makes the 28 - 0 result Montpellier, was gifted look, look even more absurd.

Biggest one I can find is 92-17 in 2004 when Leinster humiliated Bourgoin.

And that is how MH "plays" rugby. One out, pick and go, bash-bash. Not a semblance of pace or creativity.

You wonder if he did that on purpose to get back to the baths and away from his side's sh*t show.

I really like Benjamin Kayser as a commentator. Knows his stuff and is really good on info. for Fre sides.
"Just shoot the animal" is right.

Most of the time. During the Leicester - Connacht game yesterday he claimed Genge is the best scrummaging loosehead in Europe. He's not even the best in the Prem!Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:42 pm I really like Benjamin Kayser as a commentator. Knows his stuff and is really good on info. for Fre sides.

Have wondered how he didn't get into coaching in France. His exposure to rugby on this side of Channel with Leicester gives him added value away from the insularity of T14.ASMO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:43 pmMe too, he was also good value on the podcast The Good, The Bad and the Rugby.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:42 pm I really like Benjamin Kayser as a commentator. I didn’t like Montpellier before for having so many foreigners, but today shame on them for sending this team , the 2nd rows are 21yo with only few games in pro for one and it’s the second game for the other, #10 & #15 only 19 years old.

Well, they didn't crack the 100, but 89 scored is plenty ugly enough.
Montpellier, even by their low standards in this competition,
