The adidas 3 stripe was the peak Wallaby jersey.
However the #FF8000 is straight-up internet orange. It should be "Australian Gold, my friend, and don't you fucken forget it" (© The Twelfth Man circa 1988).
Swatch against white, light and dark backgrounds:
I reckon somwhere around #ED9B1E is a better bet.
This colour.
or maybe a bit darker when smaller ...

I used a colour picker to grab it from Ella jersey in the pic above, but yeah it's not great.

Using a colour picker on photos will vary a lot depending on the spot u pick ... so it's always more art than science.
Colours like gold, yellow, silver, etc, are the trickiest to use for text. The margin for readability is narrow.
