This can't wait a day longer... cheers to Taranaki Snapper who shared a link to this girl after seeing her play in Adelaide last night. She's a bit special...

I loved this when it came out... pretty sure I heard it while at Otago Uni around 1985?

Can't believe his Wiki page doesn't mention the song...

Fair to say it's his most 'accessible' song? It still sounds good nearly 40 years down the track. I had an album from him with his 'Builders' band, CONcH3 I think it was. One of those quirky artists whose music was too high brow for the wider market.

This is great song writing, the story is terrific

I've still got CoNCH3 and Split Seconds.

One of my favourite tracks off the latter:

This band is singlehandedly restoring my faith in modern music and " redefining the guitar"..says their publicity material.

It is a mixture of trap music..and guitar virtuosity.

(Realise you lot know this band inside out and have probabky been into them for the last 6 years, and I only got into them because Steve Vai is, and appeared in one of their tracks recently..but still).

^^ Two excellent choices.

While we're on the nostalgia bent, I spent a lot of nights getting very sweaty with these guys up front...

I spent last weekend on the outskirts of Timaru... close friends had a combined 40th anniversary and 60th birthdays party. Massive reunion, a lot of us present have been in the same towns around the world at the same time over the years so the chance to get together and act sensibly until the small hours over two nights was too good to pass up. I was still feeling second hand when I rocked up to work on Wednesday night.

This came up in my weekly Spotify playlist on Monday morning....

mood captured perfectly.

I must be Friday somewhere.

A friend just sent me a video of this band, not this one, but I love this, I love her swagger and I didn't really expect the vocals. I think they are Ukrainian
