Jaiswal looks very classy. England collapse makes the BCs look good.

Losing by 434 runs and batting for a total of 111 overs while conceding nearly 900 runs. Not one of our better Test Match efforts :|

He has obviously scored a few more runs than some in this innings, but the next test should be JBs last except for injury.

220 would be a good score here

Neil Wagner gone!

A great test bowler for NZ.

He will be sorely missed.

Loftie-Eaton scored his ton in 33 balls, so it’s the fastest hundred in T20 internationals.

OK. Bit of a stretch expecting me to recognise a mis spelt school in SA I think!

He'll score a ton and secure another ten caps of crapness, before repeating the cycle.

Make that 89/4 with O'Rourke getting Head caught behind for 1.

Much better bowling since Lunch, apart from a couple of wild ones going for 4 byes.

Well done Kiwis. Great day of Test Cricket I hear.

Very happy for Green. Could be the innings that Kickstarts a special career.

Would say it's evenly poised.....

Pretty sure a test match is played over five days, not one.

Australia's a very fine side, and I fully expect them to win the series. They have a better attack than ours, and I expect them to use the conditions tomorrow morning better than we did today. Conceding 30 extras in a day is unacceptable. Should've had 'em all out for under 250 imo. Damn fine innings by Green, mind.

Yes I do realise that a Test match is played over 5 days. Considering the 3-0 result in the T20s to start the tour and the 31 years since you have won a test match against us in NZ I naturally thought congratulations may be in order for a competitive first day.

Sorry, will retreat back to antagonistic ways

Finally we get the 10th wicket but Aus put 383 on us, Green 174*. They are not likely to lose from there.

Aus finally all out for 383, with Green not out on 174. This kid looks quie handy.

Great bowling by Matt Henry, who picks up a well deserved Michelle.

Straya's test to lose from here. Wouldn't be surprised if we're 5 down for sfa at Tea.

Cricinfo doesn't agree with you:
But the pitch has looked better for batting today, so New Zealand will take some hope from that.

That balls up is squarely on Young, imo. There was no need for him to turn around and watch the ball after Kane called for the run.

Amateur Hour.

The good news is that our lowest ever test innings score is not in danger.

The bad news is that we are now 29/5
