The one puzzle a day format is refreshing...it leaves you wanting more without binging.
Anyone else into it?

Thanks for the link. I first heard about Wordle last week but couldn't find the original. The app stores are predictably flooded with copies with ads.
p.s got the first one correct on 4th attempt!

We have the whole family in daily competition, infuriatingly addictiveGumboot wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:42 am Heard about this game just a few days ago and I like it, as does the sprog.

I saw this game last week, but I've only just played it now.
There's now way I can get into that, I would be looking up as many sites as I could, logging in with different accounts, losing days to it. I did that with Sudoku.
It's why I've never done gaming apart from playing the kids' Mario Kart once in a while

I do it every morning now and I really enjoy it. I'm purposely avoiding reading about the best ways to solve it using statistics etc. I prefer just to bung any 5 letter word in.
That's kinda the joy of this one: it's one-and-done for the day. Everyone gets the same word every day.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:43 am I saw this game last week, but I've only just played it now.

Despite being on a UK domain name they use Yank spelling though
Today's was a bit annoying, took me way too many tries

I'm stuck. Can anyone help me with this one?
Please don't do that again.
It's been already snipped for me, apols, was weak joke about rude word. Will not do again. Well, won't post any spoilers, will obviously post weak jokes about rude words.

I love games like this, more logic than simple recall.
(Apols again for posting, didn't register the bit where everyone gets same word for the day)

I have green and yellow, as do most posts I've seen from others sharing their results. Green is correct, yellow is included and out of place and grey tiles are not included. My phone keyboard also darkens the irrelevant letters while 'awarding' colour status.
Have you got your settings switched to colour blind mode?

Heard about it, never played before today, just got one in 5, as mentioned by others looks addictive.

Yeah a good starting word is one with lots of vowels and no repeats. It's often good to go for completely different letters for the second word even if you have a few matches in the first word
This was mine for today

No. It does use double letters - how does the system not support it? "Truss" has been one answer.
And paddyor, the following starting word is slightly better

Looks like it, new puzzle in 3 hrs 20 mins here in UK..
Nope, it can be the same letter twice, but as you say the colour system won't reveal that.
That's the only "catch" as far as I can tell...
Yep, some of my favourite starting words covering multiple vowels:Happyhooker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:40 pmNo. It does use double letters - how does the system not support it? "Truss" has been one answer.

How doesn't it show that? It takes every letter separately. If it's in the correct place, it's green, incorrect, yellow. No, it doesn't tell you that there's another letter the same, but why should it.
And yes, it ticks over to a new one at local midnight
