How 'Dad' Are You?

Not a dad, but am 'guilty' of about half of these with friends and family.

What others would you add?

Me ... any time someone brings their kid to the adult rugby, I make a comment about signing them up or question their eligibility. Same with people who are 'too old' or clearly not athletic (must have done that three times to old people with cruiser bikes while volunteering as a traffic marshal at an elite road cycling race on the weekend  ).

How extreme are the eye rolls? My niece is 9 and I'm already seeing it when my brother's girls are over at my parents' house. My dad thinks he's hilarious. He is not.

 Yeah, what dad hasn't copped a few eye rolls in his day? The sprog also had a terrific deadpan "great" response if I got enthused about something she thought was uncool. I kinda miss that stuff since she's flown the nest and I don't get to be so "daddish" silly anymore. Guess that's just the natural order of things.

I'm the "bad uncle" - it's great.

Free reign to pull all the funny stuff

How can the list not include "when I was your age,......." when your kid complains about the latest technical gadget not working perfectly.

Talk in an exaggeratedly silly accent. Kids love it when you do that.

Especially with regards to unlimited on demand children's shows vs. Kid's hour on the telly.

That's one thing that has surprised me becoming a dad. The sheer enjoyment at embarrassing my kids.

I always use 'Crystal Palace'

Guilty of lots of the above

I don't do the eye roll, instead I use a single raised eyebrow - used to drive my kids mad.

My sons are dads now so it doesn’t work but my grandchildren really love my puns.

Thought of another one as some club execs and I were volunteering at a local community barbeque... someone brings a big platter of something to a table, dad takes the whole thing as if that's his serving and says to the kid "I've got mine. Where's yours?" or something to that effect. (i.e. me replacing a tray of hotdogs while a line of kids waited)

I don’t really do those dad comments, but I do:
Fart loudly
Grunt with effort if I reach for something like the remote Contol
Wear slippers

Buying slippers was my 'Cortes burning his ships' moment in the war over turning the heating on this winter.
