Up to this morning, our zoo "only" consisted of:
1 x Ball Python (Butter Pastel)
2 x Tenrecs
1 x Leopard Gecko
Way too many freshwater fish
Honorary members:
1 x naughty male Jack Russell
1 x fucking demonic-level evil female Jack Russell/Dachshund cross
1 x monkey (it's our nickname for our son)
We went to the Johannesburg Reptile Expo today, and came back with 2 Tarantulas. I'm a level 900 arachnophobe. I honestly have no idea how my son got me to buy them for him and allowing him to bring it into our house. With the snake he only had to convince my wife, who was shit-scared of snakes. My boy and I at least share a love of snakes. To confuse matters, my wife is now the one who handle the snake the most. And she walks around with the Tenrecs all day.
Our list of animals to get over time (or more accurately, money), includes:
Many more ball pythons (many, many more)
At least one red trail boa
At least one Iguana
Either a chameleon or bearded dragon or somesuch
A blue tongued skink
3 years ago it was only my wife and I, and 1 dog. How on earth is this happening?
