I thought it was a civil case? There is no need to prove beyond reasonable doubt, it is balance of probabilities.

She was so obviously a complete loon that on the assembled panel that followed, the black female CNN reporter who along with Jim Acosta always insisted on trying to dominate the Trump press conferences, declared that an actual Carroll rape trial would be un-necessary because Trump 'was guilty (of the 'rape') in the court of public opinion'. i.e the reporter was stating the obvious, which was that Surely Not A Single Person on the planet would be such a fumbduck as to seriously believe Carroll's arrant nonsense.
That reporter clearly didn't follow this forum (if then in existence) or its predecessor.
