Me and the Mrs and the Mrs mate went into the sea on Sunday. The Mrs bailed out after 2-3 mins, the Mrs mate then proceeded to talk my ear off for at least 10 minutes longer than I wanted to be in the water.

Got home and in the shower which I had to turn right up to even feel.

Forgot to turn it down again, my lad wasn’t happy an hour or so later 😂

Know what you mean, I had thought it would make me sensitive to the heat of the shower, but you have to crank it right up.

My gas bill this month will be painful

Phew. So it’s not just me experiencing it.

1 degree today. I actually had to break up surface ice to get in. Though it was no worse than the 2-3 degrees, just looked more intimidating as had ice floating on surface.

25 mins.

Had to put hands out after 15 mins. Hold the edges of the tub. My gloves are not much help. Too loose.

Currently up at Loch Tay with the cold water dipping group. Early morning one completed and feel bullet proof.

Have to say, loch dipping is quite a bit nicer than sea dipping!

I imagine the waves and water motion must be a lot harder in terms of heat loss.

I generally stay quite still in my little tub.

Speaking of which, I need to prepare it. It’s naturally about 9 degrees. I have taken to freezing water in plastic cereal containers. And putting them in the tub a couple of hours before. Which usually drops it a few degrees.

Easier to make large volume of ice in. And cheap.

Lad I know through work goes for a swim off the North Sea coast at 6am every morning, barring major storms.

Never saw the appeal in it!

Shorts before moving on to the Budgies when you’re a pro
