The $harks should buy him, and play him instead of Bosch.

My take on Simelane as well. I think his Stormer adventure might be his last chance. With Ruhan Nel's injury he should get some regular gametime at 13 and with Manie, Willemse, SFM and Galant as playmakers he should hopefully get so quality attacking ball. If he can't perform within stars that align like that, then I don't know.bok_viking wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 1:56 pm It is a shame Simelane did not kick on at the Bulls, I was hoping he would be a very impactful signing for the bulls. But as it stand he does not come close to Gans and Kriel to try get a regular center spot and when he played his performances was pretty average.. So most of his games for the Bulls have been on the wing and he is just not fast enough for a wing. Unfortunately with guys like Moody and Arendse his playing time was always going to be very limited on the wing as well.
Maybe he can kick on at the Stormers but not so sure, right now he looks like a squad player at most unfortunately.
Sharks are in a bit of a pickle. They have 3 flyhalves on the books, so it's tough to justify buying a new one, and any 10 worth their salt would be reluctant to move if they aren't going to get regular gametime. They are going to have to hope one of their 3 shitty 10's get an offer from Europe or Japan (unlikely) or wait for their contracts to expire, or just buy the contracts out and cut them loose.

He is a good buy, will add a lot to the depth. He is the kind of player that the $harks should be buying.
Couple of forwards from the Bulls, a wing from Japan and we've got our starting 15.

But you are right, moving the CC to July mean all the Framchises have to many players. Obvious the Stormers have quality in depth and can't keep them all with some decent youngsters coming through.

Dobson said that as Director of Rugby he will be responsible for ensuring that the Stormers become a force in world rugby for generations to come.
“My love for this team and the rugby people in this region is well-documented and I will continue to put everything I can into making our rugby as strong as possible.
“As Director of Rugby I will now be looking more broadly at the rugby environment in our organisation and planning for where we want to go, as well as overseeing the current squad and our mission to make Cape Town smile,” he said.
We honestly don't deserve John Dobson. The man is a legend. I hope they manage to name a stand or something at Cape Town stadium after him at some point.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 9:57 am Stormers finally got the deal through with Red Disa.

It's nice having "first dibs" on all the schoolboy talent being produced here, but trying to keep 10 per year isn't going to work. There aren't enough slots to give them gametime. Not sure how this is going to work. The conveyor belt has always produced more than WPRU could absorb.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:27 am Stormers will invest heavily in their own schoolboy structures going forward. Dobson aim to keep at least the 10 best local schoolboy talent in the Stormers catchment area yearly.
The Stormers have an ex Leinster partner Ardagh to tap from.
