My brother has some on his leg and they are very aggressive. Not looking good as they have just come back and he is waiting for a full body scan.
Good luck to you Taff.

Sorry to hear that, my dad has a reoccurring one on the side of his nose.
Wouldn't be surprised if he had a lot more, since the photo evidence would suggest he spent the 70s and 80s shirtless. He's lucky that he heals exceptionally well.

I've had two basel cell carcinoma's (pre-cancerous cells) removed from my nose. Thank god I have a very good surgeon because the hole they make during cutting to make sure they "get it all" is like the Grand Canyon.
@Taff - you'll be shocked how big the scars will be on your back afterwards.

He might be a good healer, you wouldn't know my dad had anything done, and it's been removed several times.
I'd have a massive scar.

Taff, don't fuck around. Melanoma can be extremely aggressive... act quickly and maintain the monitoring after removal. Overcompensate with that like a mad bastard.
I nursed my mother through the last few months of not bothering to get one checked in time. She ignored a lesion on her nose for too long, AFTER having earlier brushes with the bastard.
Get in there and get it looked after quick and don't get complacent with it.

Thanks for all the good wishes..
Being single means no-one sees your back to alert you!..
I had an annoying itch and when I managed to contort myself to see, thought I had a cat biscuit stuck to my back.. asked my daughter to have a look and she was WTF Dad!
Been to Dr and referred to hospital on Monday, not hanging about, 2 definitely, 6 more possibly...
After seeing how my dads neck went from a red lump to a 4 inch oozing black thing in 2 months, I'm not taking my time...

So true. I had a couple of suss looking moles cut out a few years ago. One from a forearm, and the other a big bugger right between my shoulder blades... that I didn't even know was there until my GP gave me a full body once over!
All the best TB63 and Dan.

Sorry to hear that. Are the able to freeze, cut then out?
My dad spent most of his adult life getting shit cut out of his back every other year (it' didn't kill him though). We grew up in SA using a a product if a recall correctly was called 'Sun block" a runny clear liquid in white bottle. It was great at not getting you lobster red (UV-A) but as it turns out, it wasn't any good at the UV-B stuff.
I have his scottish complection (my mother the complete opposite).
I've had Basal cell carcinoma frozen off, totally paranoid about anything that doesn't disappear in a couple of days. Also take pics of my back every 6 months and compare.

Had one off two years ago caught it early as my golf club is virtually all Medics (Scots to boot a lethal drinking combination). It was off before I knew it was a problem but the good news is you are then looked at all over every 6 months. The treatment now is leagues ahead of that in the past, you’ll be fine my friend

Thanks everyone. Best wishes to everyone fighting off the big C in its many forms, thankfully treatment is advancing rapidly on all fronts. MM is one of the ones they can't cure but current treatments mean that I should around stinking up the board for a few years yet.
