Just read the forum rules again and can't see anything definite about trolling but good mannered banter is okay (which is good). Now we all know a troll is a shit-stirrer with the goal to annoy/piss-off people and one who does not actually join the discussion at hand in a "constructive" manner. So in general, an irritating nuisance who generally sours proceedings. BUT - I think you get so-called "good trolls' and "bad trolls". A good troll, albeit still a troll, does make some contribution to the forum in the form of clever and/or funny remarks. I think those type of trolls can be tolerated to an extent (as long as they don't stink up every single thread and at least contribute constructively to most threads). Bad or kak trolls should just be SOS. So what is the forum's official stance on this and what do you as user of this forum think about it?

Sometimes I hope some posters are just trolling and not actually hold the views they post.

I think as long as a poster constructively makes (attempts to make) a contribution to a thread/discussion (whether you like his views or not), it's all good. One should at least tolerate the views of others.

I would argue most of us troll at times, but done either with humour or to provoke comment, there are a very small number for whom trolling is their default setting, those will be watched, warned then removed as they add nothing.

It looks like the clean up has already started. A certain troll doesn't seem to be with us anymore.

There are currently a few posters who only visit the place to leave one-liner insults (some actually following/stalking certain posters). Putting those posters on your ignore list helps but you get another poster quoting the troll's shit and you see it. I request the mods to keep a look out (some of the kak trolls have been called out so wouldn't be too difficult to recognise). I don't like to report people, I'll rather leave it to the mods to oversee proceedings.

Do you really think I would contribute paragraphs of discussion to a thread just for trolling? You don't like what I'm posting because you don't agree with my point of view. We have a sin bin here, anyone put in there can post but every post has to be approved by a mod before it appears.

I mean yeeb style banter is great, "jobless git", but banter in the UK is utterrly toxic when you have a ruling class that will take that banter, turn it into a perception and destructive policy that leads to 135 thousand deaths and millions of people terrorised, and millions more sent to foodbanks. in the UK, just for daring to claim on their national insurance.
