You need ESKOM to light a fire?
I cannot always wait for the coals before braaing
I get that, but what does that have to do with loadshedding?

Eskom has been good lately. Luckily I never need a second invitation for braaiing. When Ma say braai, the fire is lit in no time. Love to braai on the deck but havent in ages because of the kak weather. Binne braai have its own uniqueness. Stand braai is great

Dude...you are filling your body with gas. Not all gas that goes into the burner burns...you will notice a slight gas smell on your food . At least my wife does , I cant smell for shit. Thats it. A substance that ignites cannot be healthy for your body. Thats why Spur and Steers are Flame Grilled....its vokken gas.

Braai night

I am seriously in love with this braai. I reinforced the grids. Wasn't going to throw R750.00 away. Put supports across.
It's so easy to pack and light. Can go from logs lit to smoking the chicken wings. Left them there the entire braai and dropped them to the bottom grid to get some color on them before taking them off. I have those heights perfect. A lot of small issues to sort out. The grids swing . Need to balance that properly. It's all about the level. It's all prototype stuff so far but I would like to make it more industrial. Then I will be happy.

Best thing. With all the rains not a drop of rust ....here by the coast

Weather has just been sooooo shite here in mud isle , July was nice but what with school leave and hols and work trips , no braai.
Weather is no excuse.

Just get out there and braai. It is your duty.
Still haven’t braaid - have to clean the bastard now , probably rusty as hell by now :(

At 21h00 I am already in my pajamas. On saturday after the final I will either eat all the food raw or just throw them out for the dogs. My nerves is sky high already.

Snags completed today. I think the missus did a great job of our new braai area. Lovely not to battle the South Easter. Very cozy spot.

Loving the new braai room

Hi Okes,

I'm doing my 1st brisket over Christmas. I think I have a good handle on the theory. I'll be up at 4am to light the fire, and then aiming to eat whenever she is ready. Doing it on a Kamodo Joe. Charcoal and hickory wood chunks sourced, going to put the rub on 24-36 hours in advance.

Any other tips from experienced Brisket Veterans would be much appreciated.

Picking the meat up on Thursday. 3 couples with kids (doubt much will be wasted on them tbf). How many kgs should I go for?

Saffer mate reckons 3kgs should do it, but I want to ensure there is enough meat for a day or 2 of sandwiches afterwards.

Oven is busted in new gaff, so whilst I wait for a replacement, I'm Grilling every day.

I didn't bother with our old rental, but really enjoying a beer and my grill every evening

I'm confused, is this the original Chilli, or a new one?
