Re: Welsh player strike

Are/were Nottingham ever at the top level? I vaguely recall a few Leicester players would go there for some experience, so maybe not - suggest they were a level down. My late Father in Law went down to watch Nottingham at West Bridgford on a fair few occasions, he always seemed to enjoy it, but had...

Re: Welsh player strike

It's a rugby mad region tbf and for the longest time they'd only really had Saints or Tigers as Premiership options. Way before pro rugby started, when I first started following Saints in the early 1970's you also had Coventry as part of the Midlands rugby triangle. Almost as competetive as the Gla...

Re: The Scottish Politics Thread

Uk exporting to France was a one off for known reasons, as above. We could of course wonder why the HVDC line to Norway, to access more hydro storage, wasn’t terminated in Scotland, where the excess is generated and where it’s closer. There was a NorthConnect project to link Norway to Scotland, to ...

I disagree especially when the trans issue brought her down. Her speach earlier referrenced her or she being her successsor as well. Self ID has been a major contributory factor in her demise. Nothing brought her down, she resigned out of the blue. That’s a generous reading of the situation. Althou...

Yes I know her partner isn't trans. Her name is very well known, I just thought it added to the thread. It didn't and to be honest shouldn't be used to "add to" anything other than in the correct context. I disagree especially when the trans issue brought her down. Her speach earlier refe...

A win was important, but Italy looked knackered first half from the France game and won the second half when they woke up I think?. We were very lucky with some of the scrum penalties as well. Mako? One of the things that baffled me was selecting Farrell as his OH .... against Italy ! Lets face it, this is traditionally the game you give youth a chance, & take a bit of a punt, & get to see what some of your 3rd tier can do, & instead he put in a player who he's seen for yea...

Re: The Official English Rugby Thread

Why are we dropping JVP? I know Mitchell ran sideways and popped a pass off nicely, but looking sharp in the final 20 is always a lot easier than looking that sharp for the previous 60. Though JVP was just fine. On my part it's due to a desire to introduce attacking threat in the backs. Although th...

I wanted to see tactical astuteness and flexibility from Farrell today, together with some excellent broken play space management. What I got was playing the fucking gameplan beyond all common sense. A complete opposite of heads up smart rugby.

You'd bloody well hope so!!! I think we saw, yesterday, that the Scots are actually a pretty good side - and, despite our woeful defence, we weren't far away from beating them. We had the best of the game for 70 mins. With a midfield that looks, defensively, a bit more robust - and Willis in at 7, ...

I've been consistent since his debut. Steward isn't quick enough to be a top test 15.
