Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread

5 points, couple of good tries in last 20mins and no serious injuries is a good outcome if not a good display! Yeah, exactly. We want our teams to win, go on about them being more hard nosed and grinding out results, then when they do that, people get sniffy about not playing pretty rugby. This is ...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread

7th time this season Edinburgh have scored three tries. Have to wonder if having Kinghorn, Boffeli and Graham fit all season would have provided a few vital bonus points. Some of the teams around us have very difficult run ins, so hopefully we can still get top eight, but I'm still looking at that ...

Re: Official United Rugby Championship thread

I'll be a lazy bar steward & ask the Q rather than check myself; if Leinster get to stitch that 5th Star on their jerseys, does that mean that the 9th place spot in the URC qualifies for the Champions Cup, as the returning winner automatically qualifies ? I ask because that's how Connacht quali...

Challenge Cup rules do say home venue advantage for the higher seeded side in the semi-finals - but that must be overridden by whatever agreement has been signed by the South African teams as Sharks v Clermont is at the Twickenham Stoop.

There is no way this wasn't known in relevant circles, not perhaps by everyone, but the numbers who did and didn't act assuming others must/might be or pretended they didn't know would be along a similar line of defence being used by various Post Office managers. It stinks. But also, over to Exeter...

Incident was in the diddy cup but Paul Willemse getting a 5-week suspension from a 6-week entry point for yet another head shot blows my mind. So Hastings back to Glasgow confirmed. I think that’s a good signing but I do fear what it means for Thompson and Richie Simpson. I think for Thompson it probably means a move to Edinburgh. Simpson will be in the same situation as before - needs to work his way past a veteran in his position (Weir)...

Could be that the 2027/28 Champions Cup will have no winner. You have to pass behind them not run behind them.
Player in front has to prevent a defending player from making a tackle for it to be obstruction though. That wasn't the case there.
