For me it’s a habit. After my shower I dry and weigh. That way I don’t risk missing my weekly weigh in. And naturally I take fluctuations into account but follow the trend. Who else here has kept their weight under their target for over a dozen years? You can’t argue with success.
And a tip I got from one of my wife’s diet attempts. If you’re feeling really peckish, take 5 almonds and eat them slowly, one after another. It works.

I'd found Aloe Vera gel gives some respite but I'd had 10days (since my covid jab), it just wasn't improving and was getting more sensitive and painful phoned in for a chat with my GP and she set out some Aciclovir 800mg horse tablet 5 times a day. I've had a slight lapse this week I had got down to 81.0 back up to 81.7 this morning, need to knuckle back down again.
On the other side even my recently 34" waist jeans are needing a belt, glad I only got 1 pair, a lot of my old clothes will be consigned to the recycling thingy soon.

Yeah, that obviously works for you. I haven't articulated the gist of the podcast that well. The cardio they're talking about I think is more the one hour a day jogging sort of stuff. I have come down 25 kgs over the years, 15 of those in the past three years, and resistance training and a high-protein, high veggie diet have been central. But walking is a big part of my lifestyle too. The thing is, I really enjoy it, so obviously it's going to be easy to sustain.

Hit the 1,000,000 steps last Saturday. Had a couple of days off this week but to be honest I'm missing the walking so will keep the counting going and keep aim for 10k steps a day minimum. Luckily golfing quite a bit now so easy to keep the steps going, usually its 12,000 steps a round. I have started carrying my clubs rather than using my electric trolley to use up a few more calories. Worth sticking with it! Its a good 5-6 mile walk and a bit of socialising and is safe and legit up here during lock downs. Trying to play 4 times a week at the moment but weather fecked up this weekend. 42. I was steady at around 18.5-19 stone until a few years ago with my eye problems and all the associated operations and lying prone for long periods of time. It does seem to come off in waves - I've had a couple of months now where it was even creeping up slightly, but my clothes kept getting looser and I kept having to tighten the belt further. Doing leg press / bench press with someone laying in the tire seems nuts!

Back in the gym last night! Hard work but enjoyed it - good to be back. My gym - DL - is working hard to keep covid19 precautions in place and everyone is adhering to the rules. Did version 1 of my usual circuit, took about an hour and 15 mins:
- 15 mins cardio on x-trainer
- TRX - lunges, squats and side squats 10x3 of each
- Sit ups with 2kg medicine ball 15x3
- Russian twists with 2kg medicine ball 20x3
- Planks 3x1 minute
- Kettle bell swings 8kg 15 x 3
- Box squats 8kg 15 x 3
- Single leg balances - each leg x 45 secs x 3 (rehab for dodgy knees)
- Skull crushers 15kg 15x3
- Seated shoulder dumbbell press 16kg 15 x 3
- Clean and Jerks 15kg 15 x 3
- 21s x 3

It is very addictive i have found, unhealthily so i would say, i need to give my body a break but i cant bring myself to do so.
It does become addictive but better than addiction to booze or food. I've lost about 20+lbs since January and want to lose another 20lbs. Played a round of golf this afternoon and could barely bend down to tee up the ball after last night gym exertions! My hamstrings and glutes were sore probably after the TRX work. Plan is golf Thursday and then golf am and gym pm on Friday.
Not quite the same, but similar, I'm finding myself trying to keep up with a bunch of teens/20 year olds in touch rugby. I'm a prop anyway. Feeling absolutely drained today after practice last night. Need to remember to rehydrate better I suspect. Absolutely loving it though, even if my body is complaining. Can't wait to get back to scrums, just want a lot of decent practice first though!

When this thread started it gave me the motivation to do something about my weight
I have gone from 118kg down to 106kg by increasing exercise & cutting out carbs
Also whomever mentioned eating the 4 almonds to stave off hunger pangs- that really works for me.

How often do you find yourself sliding out to a wing where there's not likely to be any action? Had touch training today. Skinned a few of them a few times :D. I'm not faster than them, but if I'm on a clean break I can make a fair few yards, getting some silky hips too. Going to need to get a lot more stringent scrum technique though, I won't have the size to just lie against the opponent.
I'll blame my second row anyway.
EDIT - Today was a fasting day too, actually felt pretty energetic considering I've only had a coffee, a bovril and an orange juice (second bovril now).
