It is 31c here in Gqeberha (use to be called Port Elizabeth).

Warmest June I have ever experienced here, most days in the mid to high 20s, and 30 breached on 3 occassions

19 degrees here in Nairobi. People are dressed like it's -40. But quite nice to have a fire roaring in the evening.

I much prefer it like this. Can always put on another layer if needed, but generally warm enough for just a tshirt and jeans.

It was actually milder on the last winter solstice here when it reached 13C. Not showing any signs of getting even that high today yet.

Seems to have been the fourth coldest Summer Solstice for parts of the UK on record - it's hard to believe there have actually been colder so some consolation I suppose.

Our weather nerd in the office recorded an average temperature of 12.8 degrees C for the Summer Solstice, only 0.2 degrees warmer than the Winter Solstice.

Yep, a pleasant 18/19C (that's sweltering up here) and sunny all day with a few little fluffy clouds slowly meandering across the sky.

116 degrees when I was in Vegas last week. But it was a dry heat, so that was OK - or so I was told.

Canada has recorded its highest ever temperature as the country's west and the US Pacific north-west frazzle in an unprecedented heatwave.
Lytton in British Columbia soared to 46.6C (116F) on Sunday, breaking an 84-year-old record, officials said.
A "heat dome" of high pressure parked over the region has set new records in many other areas.
The US and Canada have both warned citizens of "dangerous" heat levels that could persist this week.

Its biblical rain at the moment in S Somerset

Street is like a river, neighbours dashing out with whatever they can use as sand bags.

My drain at back of house had filled up with moss and water was within a couple of inches of getting into house, and that's despite me cleaning it out at 5 pm.

I have to laugh though, sun was out at 3pm and I decided to do a second coat of paint on the garden furniture. All washed down the drain now.

I remember the day I left Phoenix years ago, it was 123 degrees .. & I was walking around the fucking airport carpark, which was just one mass of black asphalt.

It was like walking across lava temperature, flypaper; because my runners were sticking to the asphalt.
