FFS. Only NZ cricket could conspire to lose a test match that has had three days washed out by rain.

Feck - I said at the start of the day that whoever won the morning session would be in control of the test - and India absolutely bossed it.

I suppose Williamson being in is still a positive - but he isn't scoring. I know that he needs to be the anchor - but his slow scoring is ramping up pressure on the others. And when you look at the batting to come we don't have much that can stick around. Maybe a couple to throw the bat - but NZ are in a lot of trouble now. I don't think we will be going into the 3rd innings with a lead - that is for sure.

Disappointing.

I guess technically only NZ likely have realistic a chance to win.

India have to bat and not enough time to get big score to stretch away enough, and leave enough time to get NZ out.

Well - it was fun - but Jamieson gone and with it any real chance that we can have someone stick around with the plodding Williamson.

I know that conditions have been perfect for India's bowlers - and they have bowled very well - but that morning session just kicked our arse. If only Taylor and Williamson could have got moving - even 20 or 30 more runs in the session.

Feels like NZ just went to defensive.

Draw or India win from here?

That's interesting - I'm the opposite - I think that NZ might get an inch or so ahead. But I think India can bat enough to give NZ a tricky 180-220 total with maybe 2 sessions to either try for it or survive on a pitch that might be a bit snakey.

Even 20 minutes of Southee and Wagner slogging could change this match completely.

Right - so we're gonna fall about 20 or 30 runs short of a cheeky little lead.

Although to be fair - this is the final that the Championship needed. Too close to call and every session seemingly being more important than the next.

Lead of 32. That could be enough to put pressure on. This is tight AF

What would one more day's play have given us. Such a pity that the rain struck THIS week.

We really are going to miss Watling behind the stumps — nothing flash but he just gets the job done.

This is how you invoke the mocker gods (from cricinfo)

: "Unecessary shot from Kohli. The match is heavily in NZ's favour now. Rahane and Pant playing their shots and being more positive is the way to go and put some pressure on the Kiwi's. Meanwhile Pujara has to just stay there and do what he does best."

It's always great to see a genuine bowling talent emerge like this. Reminds me of Archer's impact. When's he due to get injured?

And after I've been talking Southee up as a slipper... Two in one match — he's obviously been standing next to Taylor for too long.
