Keep your rugby comp to yourself. You can also take back your Soccer Team that plays in our National comp. As well as the so called New Zealand Warriors who try to play in our NRL. Also take your Netball team back, as well as your bogan V8 drivers. Oh nearly forgot your Team that plays in our National Basketball league, they can piss off too.

And while we are at it New Zealand can fuck off from ANZUS and FIVE EYES too. They are a liability with their joke shop Air Force and Navy.

So if you want too play by yourself and with yourself go right ahead. We dont won't or need you.

As to those NZ citizens you mentioned, they are criminals and deserve to be punted back to where they came from. They are not Australian. They have had the opportunity to become OZ citizens but have chosen not too. Whether that is through entitlement or incompetence is a moot point. They decided not too which means they are not entitled to live here like Australians are. Stop crying and fuck off back to the country you all profess to love so much.
You can get a cream for that.

That's fine. You take back the Pavlova and all the NZ sporting teams that we generously allow to play in our National sporting comps. If you do that as well as repatriate all the Kiwi bogan scum that infest our Eastern seaboard then we will call it even.

I wish you well setting up pro leagues for all those athletes suddenly looking for work.

But it's all good isn't it? As long as NZ rugby is strong fuck everything else.

What a myopic little backwater

Green light, what’s with the fixation you have with kiwi teams playing in Aussie comps?

It doesn’t sound like a very good comparison to the situation where the NZRFU is playing hardball and looking to restrict numbers of Aussie teams. Because in the instances that come to mind for me, such as with the Breakers or the Phoenix, there are only one kiwi team in an Aussie comp anyway?

My point is no NZ teams should be playing in them. They are Australian National Comps for Australian Teams.

NZ do not qualify.

The rulings bodies of those competitions decide who qualifies, therefore those NZ teams qualify.

You shouldn’t have asked them to joint then... but the fall in revenue without them could be a little hard to explain to your bogan masses, M8.

My point is you only play in those comps through our generosity not through right. You on the other hand show very little recipracation.
Wasn't it a few years ago we asked to put a team into your NPC. How did that go?

Always riding on our backs. 650 000 of you here I presume because you can't put food on the table in your own country. You only have 5 million people. Yet a millon of you choose to live elsewhere. NZ cant be that great can it?
Hiding behind our defensive screen because you are too poor or unwilling to contribute adequately to your own defence. Are you still leasing planes? And how goes the much vaunted NZ Navy going? Pretty sure the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard has more ships.

So you can't feed or defend yourself but you have a good rugby comp.

Good to see NZ concentrating on the important issues.

The decisions about which teams get to play in which competitions are, rightly or wrongly, business decisions.

It’s not about “generosity”.

The opposite in fact. I have a Kiwi girlfriend. However she is an old school NZder. She is humble and grateful to be here. She is not the entitled Kiwi bogan male that I so often run into here.

Also I notice no one is contesting my points just playing the man.

Your main point seems to be that Australia is better than New Zealand because it has more people, and spends more money on its armed forces.

Which would make Australia a lot better than New Zealand of course, but still not nearly as good as North Korea.

That is not my point. My point was I am sick of the ungrateful and entitled attitude a lot of Kiwis have in my experience towards Australia. Particularly the 650000 that live here. An attitude that is prevalent on PR as well as NPR. I mean if you want to talk about better why do so many leave your country to live in ours? Is it because NZ is heaven on Earth and OZ is hell.

Yes that must be it........

Settle down, son, the Chinese could probably succeed in a land invasion of Aus with 5% of their armored personnel. Neither country is a military giant and it's all academic anyway as both countries exist in various defence partnerships featuring the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, France, Germany and others.

Kiwis being allowed to migrate to Aus
Select kiwi teams been generously allowed to compete in Aus competitions.
Weak and laughable kiwi forces
Kiwis not thinking it a plan to play with a newly inflated set of Aus teams.

Hamish McLennan puts Rugby Australia on fast track to restructure

Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan has brought in a cost-out and restructuring expert to trim up to $15m from the organisation, while at the same time he is working towards major constitutional changes that will usher in an AFL-style commission to administer the game....

Aside from holding up the AFL Commission as the best available model for rugby to emulate, with modifications, McLennan isn’t entirely sure what his end goal is. He is not certain, for instance, whether a Rugby Australia commission should be set up to run in parallel with the RA board or as a substitute for it. Nor is he sure whether a separate Super Rugby commission should be set up independently to run that element of the game or whether its function could be embraced by an RAC.

The answer to that probably will be dictated by New Zealand. If they accept Australia as equal partners in the trans-Tasman venture, with five sides apiece, there may well be a need for a SRC. Otherwise, perhaps not.

Interesting news on TV numbers, with a couple of things standing out - https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-unio ... 55j3w.html
TV ratings steady with some blowouts

Television ratings, sourced from Mediaweek and OzTAM, tell a mixed tale but suggest audiences will respond to the improvement in quality typified by the Brumbies v Reds match last week, and that the history of the Western Force could be an asset for the competition going forward.

Since a solid start on 69,000 for the round one opener between the Waratahs and Reds, only two other matches have come close to that mark.

The Force's first game back in the Super Rugby fold drew 70,000 viewers on Foxtel in round two, a figure yet to be bettered. Only the Brumbies' clutch win over Queensland came close, hitting 62,000 last Saturday.

There have been low points - last Friday night's Force v Rebels fixture drew a season low of just 29,000 - and any game without either the Reds or Waratahs has languished around the 30,000 to 40,000 mark.

But the numbers suggest 'appointment viewing' has been an important change from previous seasons, when Australian teams could be playing in any number of time slots - from 5pm to 1am on three different days.

The OzTAM ratings do not include viewers on Foxtel's streaming service Kayo, but sources told the Herald they pushed them close to the 100,000 mark for the bigger games.
So, the main TV markets are Sydney/Brisbane, who tune in to watch their team go around. Steady match times (and no SA middle of the night stuff) are slowly increasing things. Kayo is bringing in more viewers. The Rebels are a bit shit at drawing interest.

So all that suggests an expansion to 6 or 8 teams should, if any at all, involve extra Aust. teams from NSW & Qld. I suspect supporters in those states will watch both state teams with interest.

Brad Thorn's impassioned plea for trans-Tasman Super Rugby
Former All Black and current Queensland Reds coach Brad Thorn has made a strong plea for a trans-Tasman Super Rugby championship.

The future of the competition continues to be debated after New Zealand signalled it wanted to streamline the tournament without a South African element because of the travel complications under the Covid-19 restrictions.

But just how much involvement the Kiwis want from Australia remains to be seen as they have aired concerns about the competitiveness of the teams there.

Thorn knows all about the rugby codes on either side of the ditch, having played league for Australia and rugby for New Zealand while also being a long-term lock with the champion Crusaders outfit.

Both New Zealand and Australia are playing domestic versions of Super Rugby but Thorn hopes they can find some common ground.

“I look at two countries that have gone to war together, have a tight connection, are very close to each other and we both love our rugby,” Thorn told News.com.

“For me, you think about Queensland in the 70s, they started playing the New Zealand teams, they wanted to improve their rugby.

“We’re really enjoying this national comp playing against our fellow Australian teams, but also with New Zealand rugby teams, nationally as well, obviously being very strong, we want to compete against that also.

“The future of rugby is getting talked about, and ... we want to be in the best competition, we want to play the best.

“There’s an opportunity to have a very good competition, so you hope that whatever gets done on both side is for a good result and we get a world-class competition.”Thorn’s coaching deal at the Reds ends this year, but he is keen to continue.

“I think it’s going in a positive way with the competition they’re talking about, and you want to be part of that,” he told News.com.

"I’ve enjoyed this role, this is my third year, and I wanted to serve this club as best I could, and at the minimum leave it in a better place for the next guy.

“I feel like it’s in a reasonable place, but being attached to the guys and what we’ve done, and the build that we’ve done, it would be great to see it through, and see some real strength for the Queensland Reds, but also rugby in Queensland in general.”
How much sway would Thorn's opinion hold in Australia?

It’s good to see both tournaments doing well on their own.

I must admit I’ve not watched a single game of the Aus one, but noted some Aus posters enjoying it.

So perhaps it’s best and to just keep it that way until internationals.
