We don't seem to try any pre-planned moves off the set-piece anymore. We've got such a great defence and ability to absorb pressure that there's probably no incentive to try flashy plays. Rassieball is working so far and I'm loving all the winning. But being a Bok supporter feels like having a hot 20 year old girlfriend who insists on wearing a burkha when you go out for a drink.
Ja, the backs don't have a lot of confidence on attack. I'm sure if you crunch the numbers you'll probably find that a backline player is more likely to get turned over from a set-piece play than score from one, but I'd still like to see them try every now and again.FalseBayFC wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 4:53 pm We don't seem to try any pre-planned moves off the set-piece anymore. [/quote We're becoming very predictable. The Puma's have already come up with the screen to protect the ball catcher which has effectively neutralized our box kick chasers today. The standing scrumhalf who is rolls the ball with his feet in a standing position while holding a conversation with his pillars and first receiver is hilarious. "Jasper did you remember to buy beers for tonight." "Ja Cobus." , " Watch me box kick ouens."

Hard luck Argies. Glad you got a try in the end there. You played til the end.
The only positive I can draw from this game is that Thomas du Toit is looking good and Janse van Rensburg looked handy when he came on. Our strength in the forwards is building nicely. We could have gone with a 5/3 sub split and had Fassi in there. In fact Fassi should have started at 15 and Willie should have had a rest.

Vok Reinach was wit honne kak. Hy wissel glad nie sy spel af nie. He have the best kicking 10 in rugby but box kick even in his 22. MadnessCartman wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 5:14 pm Really need faf back
He and Pollard play well together
Reinach is neither a play off 9 or play off 10 option
Shit, this Hendrikse injury is going to be a massive setback.
Not sure how long Faf and Herschel are still going to be out, but if neither are going to be fit for the next game it means we only have Reinach and a new 9 that needs to get in the team, get his box-kicking game up to standard and learn the defensive pattern.
Who are the remaining options to bring in? Nohamba? He was at least involved earlier.

could only watch the 2nd half... terrible stuff

I missed the second half as we had to go to the shop.
After the first half I thought it was kak.

Hendrikse is rubbish. Doesn't have the temperament. He isn't as rubbish as Reinach.Blake wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 5:30 pm Shit, this Hendrikse injury is going to be a massive setback.

Nohamba probably next. Ruan Pienaar my pick. He kicks better then all of them.Blake wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 5:30 pm Shit, this Hendrikse injury is going to be a massive setback.
