Hmmmm.....seems like the Hundred is kinda sorta maybe fulfilling its goals. Seems like 'instant fandom' is a thing and it is hitting home with folk wanting to have a reason to go somewhere and drink expensive beer in a decent atmosphere.

Clear to see though that it is unlikely to be the huge success that the ECB was hoping for. I guess the real results will be the next couple of seasons and how they go.

I think the ECB are realistic about what constitutes success off The Hundred, and I think it would be churlish to say that it's been anything but.

A lot of concerns remain - it's success in of itself calls the county model into question of course and I still think they could have sped up T20s.

Anecdotally kids absolutely love it. Went down to coach a couple of Sundays ago and the outfield is full of kids in Hundred team kits. Some of the teenagers playing in the men's teams were shocked when I mentioned some people don't like it. There is a noticeable difference in a lot of the crowds at games.

Those of us who are already committed adult cricketers by and large seem surprised at ourselves, most seem to be sitting down to watch at 6:30 most days of the week. The cricket is good and the gimicks aren't actually that bad. The Cricketer magazine is mentioning their most viewed content is all The Hundred, even over the Test Match.

Very much looking forward to the eliminator game later, should be a cracker. Shame it'll shit it down for the final tomorrow...

Oval have bowled and fielded excellently. No doubt the standard of women's cricket is improving all the time.

Played cricket at uni with one of the Oval bowler's cousins. For some of us it was a great three years of decent cricket and great socials, for him it was three years of being told every time he was at the end of his run that his cousin is a better cricketer than he is and he should try bowling faster. Giving me a good chuckle to be proved right.

The braves splatter 168 off their hundred ball. Milne with bowling figures of 20 balls, 9 runs, two wickets. Was fairly impressive bowling. Tahir did his usual trick of taking a wicket and running off to do a lap of the ground while acting the total pillock.

The brummies are off to a bad start with a wicket down for not many.
