He didn't start for Heriots but came on in the last quarter or so.

Savala seems to be the guy who is up and coming just now, but from what I've seen of Chamberlain he is not to be written off, he turned 21 in March and I think there is more of him to come.
He was really good for Scotland U20s

Same. Went to Montpellier and Toulon a couple of years ago, fantastic despite getting tear gassed in Toulon.

Well Sixways last night was a whole lotta fun

Nice ground , great friendly locals , and a decent smattering of the tartan rug ultras

Yes , it was only a warm up game , but after going behind, good a get a result in the end , I always believe that winning is a good habit to get into early. Bit like muscle memory

Anyhoo , sort of typical preseason game , lots of good stuff , but some still needs work ( not surprising)

Looks like Glasgow this season have an interesting of old heads / young guns , really exciting to see Dobie / Thomson / Forbes / Mclean / Darge , but with older hands like Batman / Richie / Meatball - I'm really excited for this season to see what Danny Wilson can do

I thought Johnny Matthews had a good game , and Richie was also really good , Never really been a fan of resigning players , but Richie played the full 80 , ( I think ) and his line out work was great , and really pretty effective in the loose.

Rufus really slipping nicely into a Seymour sized hole , Meatball looking a better player than the one that left Glasgow , nice problem to have with him and Thomson , I'm sure both will get plenty of game time

The highlight probably the cross field kick from Meatball to McLean to score the 3rd try , timed perfectly , McLean didn't need to break stride , and then slicing through a couple of defenders before going in under the posts

The only downside was the no one was willing to join into my chant of "Rufus , Rufus McLean , everyone loves him game " to the tune of "Rupert the Bear" - Very disappointing - its a work in progress

Well that was bloody wonderful.

Just back from Accies v Jed and it was utterly brilliant to be back at the local club watching proper rugby, played in the proper way, superb.

Great moment about 5 minutes in where the ref called a scrum and the front rows formed with a bit of eyeballing. Ref noticed someone injured so blew up. Front rows had a stare then broke into broad smiles and started chatting and shaking hands, catching up. Proper rugby.

Accies stuffed them and to be honest Jed spent most of the game moaning and trying to antagonise but didn’t take the gloss off it.

Wee Duncy was very unlucky with the timing of his injury at Edinburgh, Cockerill said that letting him go was a mistake, but I'm glad for him that he's found his way back home and he and Thompson will be good at Glasgow, neither of them are Hastings/Finn types but there is plenty enough flair outside of them

Italy miles better, on this showing Scotland will be nowhere near qualification. 2nd half just started.

Was really impressed with the new ERS on Saturday - turns out playing in a smaller stadium with stands on all 4 sides really improves the atmosphere.

Facilities were great, plenty of bars which moved quickly and lots of food trucks around the place. Toilet provision excellent.

The screens in opposite corners could be a bit bigger and it was hard to hear all the announcements but they are minor quibbles - the orange posts looked excellent and make it much easier to watch the kicks

The crowd reaction just sums up Finn, a kind of low "oh no" as he launches it followed by delirium.

Barclay also does well to hold it up and not panic. Also, Finn's final pass is not as easy as it looks.

Yeah, Jones absolutely toasted Mike Brown there.

Slick's right as well, Barclay does really well not to take contact and give everyone else that extra half second to get up to the play.

Two Watsonians props are making the move from Super6 to professional deals. Longwell is going to Jersey Reds, Argiro to play in FF1 on a full-time contract. Probably not great timing for Watsonians halfway through the season but is at least a sign that the league is at some sort of better competitive standard than the old Premiership.

Went and watched Edinburgh Northern v Lismore in the sun this afternoon. Very enjoyable! Must have been about 150+ sitting around watching.

The scoreboard falling over and knocking out the sub was a reminder of junior rugby (he was OK after a wet sponge)

I doubt any of the 4 of them would care that much.

I've been with my Northern Irish Mrs for nearly 19 years now and bar the first couple of times I was out in Belfast, religion and offence over anything connected to religion is confined to a very noisy minority who can create havoc and the likes that if they did attend the Kingspan they'd soon get drowned out.

Never ceases to amaze me the people, mainly in the west, who go out their way to offend by using religion as some sort of method just to cause distress or be offended by someone else's religious beliefs.

You know, I never even considered that side of it, it's just not really a thing in the East, or at least it wasn't until relatively recently, some of the guys I went to school with got infected with that nonsense after they left.

Which reminds me, the school strip and the town club strip was similar to the Benetton one in that tweet, the hoops were larger but the colours were the same.

I saw a quote about the Orange Walks the other day, it was by a Polish guy, I think, he said something along the lines of, "I'd heard about this but I've never seen it before, it's like a bad recreation of Sgt Pepper's run by the worst Weight Watchers club in the world".

I was surprised at the last Edinburgh derby footie match I went to that there were groups of young lads on both sides waving their flags and singing their songs, hadn't seen that 20 years ago when I went to my last one. One of the older guys I was sat near said it was a thing about 40 years ago, then died out, and most of the supporters were horrified it had come back.

I've never come across it as a rugger thing and it certainly didn't spring to mind when I saw the strip!
