Thought Ted Lasso season 2 was a bit light on laughs and went very heavy on being sensitive. Shame as season 1 was one the best new things I've seen in quite some time.

What We Do In The Shadows seasons 3 has picked up where 2 left off, bloody funny.

Gangs of London.

No awards for acting or scriptwriting, but good fun to watch especially the gun fights.

Just finished watching The Killing (American version).

We loved the Danish original so thought we'd give the US version a go - brilliant - Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are outstanding.

In season 3 there is one episode which has one of the best performances I have ever seen on TV. Peter Sarsgaard absolutely smashes it out of the park.

When my wife had flu a couple of years ago I bought her the dvds of the US version by mistake, thinking it was the original.
I agree the US version is terrific with really good performances all round.

We like the original when we watched it too, though we got a bit Scandi Noir-ed out, there is some dark stuff in that genre

Couldn't get past the first couple of episodes, just way too slick and stylised for my liking. Much preferred Top Boy - wish they'd make a new series.

Ja it has this weird amateur feel to the whole thing. Which is odd considering the caliber of actors.

It's like a High School has been given too much money to do a modern day rip off of Peaky Blinders... they end up spending it on bombs instead of script and direction...

Going back a few years not but watched Giri/Haji recently.
Got a bit silly in the last episode but the characters were enjoyable enough that it got away with it.

Working our way through Fargo at the moment. BBT's Lorne Malvo is something else.

That Giri/Haji ending was a disaster wasn’t it. Even if you forgive the rather laboured flight of fancy, the way they had to engineer it to get everyone on the roof was truly awful. Real shame because a lot of it was quality…

When is Ozark back?

The North Water with Colin Farrell and Jack O'Connell was worth watching. Farrell is brilliant. (BBC)

Didn’t see the release time but Bateman said that they are filming until mid October, so beginning 2022 ?

Started watching and then downloaded the book halfway through the series. Its an excellent adaption and Farrell is so well cast. It reminded me a lot of "The Terror". Henry Drax has a backstory of sailing in the Pacific and is tattooed in islander fashion. In the book he refers to the Marquesas Islands.

Yeah, that is true.
Still enjoyed it and it's an interesting east/west experiment but probably for the best that was the only season.

I see it has been compared to The Terror. I liked that they filmed it within the Arctic Circle... so was pretty authentic... If I didn't know it was Farrell I don't think I would have realised for ages....

Yeah, also found it mostly enjoyable, but that rooftop scene in the finale was quite the stretch. Read somewhere that a spin-off about Rodney and Taki was being considered. No, thanks.

Not so tough looking without it
Looks much younger without it I reckon. Fresh even.

This show though, ffs, it's gone and chased its own tail up its own arse. The dialogue, every character written with the exact same smug encyclopaedic knowledge of all popular culture.

Thinking about doing a rewatch of 1st 2 seasons. In the last 2 (!) barren years probably built 1st 2 seasons up too much in my mind and dont want to be expecting the moon on a stick.

Just incredible how every character (except Greg!) is such a revolting fucking deadshit. Constantly outdoing each other in the I'm The #1 Cunt Stakes.

I reckon its Marcia, the old fellas new wife who is the key intrigue of the whole series. She could fuck all of their backstabby plans up the arse I reckon

I think it would be a bit lame if she took over. She’s a housewife but with a rough past (probably criminal), but not someone who the script writers could credibly push to take over the media empire.

I’d say the initial efforts by the script writers will be in keeping everyone out of jail so that the usual dynamic can continue.

Not a weak episode in the whole of Succession yet. My favourite of all time together with the Wire. They better not fuck up Season 3!

Don't think it would be her, she's already shoewormed her son into a high management position? I think we only saw him once. Could easily see her brutally dismissing all the sibling suitors and installing her son as COO. That would be one hell of a boardroom meeting episode. Tough to top the passive aggressive Last Supper vibe on the superyacht S2 final episode though. That was Alltime.

Some pressure on the writers now to not fuck up that utterly mental Tom and Greg "relationship" i reckon

Can't wait for Succession. The way season 2 finished was incredible, it should be a criminal offence to make us wait for the next season for so long.

Just started watching vigil from a recommendation.

Too early to say much yet. It’s just settling in episode 1 still.

Anyone watched it?

I'm up to the last episode... it's ok.. not great. Being from the same makers it's got those silly unbelievable plot twists as Line of Duty...

hasnt grabbed my imagination like Line of Duty. Could do without the
Spoiler
Show
sentimentality of the main woman's crybaby flashbacks about "my dead fiancee drowning in the car crash" and "my lost family" and "my lost lesbian relationship".
Excellent casting in that ALL the submariners seem to have shady suspicious faces. Especially the captain. Or they could be all just Doing The Acting really well. FFS I can never tell

Foundation has started. First episode grew on me. Very space opera. I like it so far. Jared Harris as Hari Selden is great and Lee Pace is awesome as Brother Day.

I started watching the first episode the other night; & I could get over a few of the obvious "adaptations", to make it filmable; but having worked with a number of ex nukes; I have a really, really hard time reconciling these crew characters, with what I know are the basic requirements of putting a hundred plus people in a steel tube for 90 days.

These dramas all take a bit of artistic license, but Vigil was off the charts for me.

Remarkably silly. Especially the last episode.
