He has been good today; I think the last pen was right; but the late tackle call was bullshitsockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:49 amI think he's been pretty good!SaintK wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:45 amCarley's reffing is he?sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:44 am I think Carly's right. Steyn was just running at him, he was never shaping to charge the ball.

If you knock the ball on wwhile making a genuine attempt to catch the ball then, yeah, no pen. If you do it in a way where re-gathering was never on the cards, you're deliberately interfering with possession in a way that kills the ball. Penalty totally warranted.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:51 amIt’s a knock on. Not a penalty. You NH types are dicks.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:49 am Again, I agree with Carly. Shooting out with one hand like that is commonly a pen up here.
De Allende is already at near maximum extension when making contact with the ball, he's not in a realistic position to gather it, he's simply being disruptive.
Mehrtens is just being a cranky old man.

If this penalty gets over turned because we’re being dicks then I’ll lose my shite.

Now that is a dogsh*t pen. Where's the ruck for Steyn to be interfering with?

Frans cant argue that one. he'd have to have won the ball before they hit the ground.

I think he thought he had and on replay, he might have a case. For me, just as much case for a pen against Mac for the same.Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:55 am Frans cant argue that one. he'd have to have one the ball before the hit the ground.

It was a soft one and I'd be fien with it not being given, but I can also see why it was.

There is a difference between running an attacking line and a defending line - DDA was full on attack. Laws don't see that, but refs can.
Repeated infringements on the line by the laws mean at least a warning and then a yellow, but the All Blacks never received a warning.
Ref should have chosen to either ref to the feeling of the match, or the letter of the law. They picked and chose between those in this second half.

Shit. Dick Mo misses the line and it swings back to Sefrica. Erm, what was that penalty for?

Sympathise with this bit. ABs been cynical in their own 22 but I do wonder if SA should have turned the screw by going for the 5/7.

That came around nicely. Inital trajectory looked like he'd fucked it.
Had zero effect. Webber had the ball in 1/2 a sec. Just let them play on
