Cant wait to see him back at the Stormers. Will be nice if Dobson slot him in 12. Our backline will be exciting.Sards wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:11 amIf he has become kak he must go. We have an excellent 15 & 10. Last time I checked he play for the Springboks with success in 12. We still have Kade Wolhuter who will be back for the rounds in SA.Sards wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:28 amCheck what I mean. Sards , your fellow Sharks supporters posting here also suggested that he should play more often 12 to be better prepared for the Springboks.
Its only you that want to compare him with useless Bosch.

I don't think any player is useless. They all have their talents and weaknesses, it's how a team utilize them that makes the difference.

He is a versatile player. Can play 10,12,15 for the Springboks like Frans Steyn. Willie has done a job for us in the past. If it was not for him we probably would not have won the WC. Go watch Chasing the Sun. Everything that happens in that backline that does not get kicked away revolves around Willie. Other teams know this now and have probably figured out ways to counter it.sorCrer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:15 amWillie is fokken useless.average joe wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:07 am I don't think any player is useless. I hate speed bump wingers with a passion. They are a little less exposed now with the inside out defensive pattern most teams employ now and they are usually super quick so good kick chasers. But they invariably get found out. There is a tiny wing fullback who played for the Kings, Malcolm Jaer. He was getting absolutely minced against the pro14 guys.handyman wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:00 pmThaakir Abrahams is all of 75 kg's. Trouble is we have so many if the little fuckers in the domestic game that they usually find themselves marking a Tristan Leyds type and don't get found out

Sharks are doing something different this weekend. Very mobile loose forwards to come on as replacements.
Interesting. Have they worked out something.....
I heard one of the Bulls talking about " breaking the glass..". Jumping across the lineout on the throw. Our guys have been caught out by this.

Having said that, I like Thaakir Abrahams at this level. He's listed at 76kg and at 21 years old with his physical type he could realistically pick up 5 percent in weight. That puts him at 80kg. Same as Cheslin, Shane Williams, Breyten Paulse and Gio Aplon. He'll never be Bok material though.
Damien Mckenzie is listed at 81kg and looked too light in the heavy going this last match. He excels when the All Blacks have forward dominance though.
Rugby currently does seem to have space for one small pocket rocket in the backline. Especially on the wings where the outside centre pushes outwards towards the touchline on defence.

Like the Bulls and the Stormers, the United Rugby Championship has proven to be a difficult tournament for the Sharks.
Their surrenders haven't been as meek as the Bulls and while they haven't subjected themselves to meek surrenders like the Stormers, the pressure to produce results is growing on them.
Guilty and banned for 8 weeks.
Terrible reflection on the Stormers' recruitment. I would cancel his contract immediately and send him back to Griquas.

This is bad news. Back to flankers / lock Ernst van Rhyn.
At least Dobson & kie got to their senses regarding the right game plan. Hope the weather will permit it tomorrow. They'll struggle in the scrum aswell with WP & Pierre plus the Cheetahs backup fatties. Possession will be valuable.
You’ll get to see Darcy Graham at the weekend for Edinburgh, seems in great form at the moment. I do slightly worry for him though, seems to have absolutely no fearFalseBayFC wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:30 pm Having said that, I like Thaakir Abrahams at this level.
