That should have been a yellow. Ref even said that there was no mitigation. :crazy:

I will never not hate a yellow-card / penalty / penalty try against an attempted intercept, regardless of if the player was in a position to regather or not.

It should be a knock-on and nothing more.

Wasnt a clear scoring opportunity, plenty of cover, far enough out from the 22, no yellow for me.... Its ordinarily a knock on, so a scrum, it was deemed deliberate so increased to a penalty, there was nothing to escalate it further than that.

That's the third NZ penalty that Peranara has immediately seized with no apparent purpose other than to have the cameras on him ... and he gave that last one away with a peek up at the big screen.
Pretty much how he knows the cameras will linger on him every damned time during the anthem when he performs his closed eyes shirt-grab act.

The ref and TMO need to seriously piss off - messing up what could be a decent match

(and I have no doubt that the All Blacks will outplay Wales and win comfortably, I just want to watch a good match).
