in this game, Wales are lucky that wasn't a pen and a yellow card.

When did Wales last have an OK lineout? It's been variable to crap for as long as I can remember.

Yellow for me. Laulala's got his height right, but he's clearly just going for a shoulder charge there.

There’s no arms but both players are bent over. That’s not a head shot.

Moriarty was bent over, ducking his head, even bending his head under. No way it could be a red. Yellow, fine.
Shite line out again.

Loved watching those guys play. There was also a massive unit, Poly guy of that era who was just a bit unco and dropped the ball a lot. Forgot his name, played loose forward. When he caught the ball with a head of steam he'd absolutely wreck people. Might have played for North Harbour or Blues.Grandpa wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 7:23 am
Andrew Blowers... there's a blast from the past. I thought he was going to be a star... but never happened...

Haha. Looked like they were going to seat Laulala boxed in ion three sides by the crowd. Moments later we see him moving to a more sheltered spot.

Thought 2 of the ABs could have been carded on the same play there, and the one who was, was very lucky indeed it wasn’t red. He goes in shoulder first, no attempt to wrap, and clearly makes contact with the head. We’ve seen plenty of red cards in the 6N for less. Fagerson’s against Wales springs to mind (I’m not trying to reopen the argument over that incident, it was completely unnecessary and gave the ref a decision to make, but he made less actual contact with the head!)
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

England-Black Ferns tomorrow morning might be a much better watch than this one.
Nah, yellow at worst. Blackadder tried to wrap but Moriarty's right arm knocked his arm down. Laulala would've made a brilliant try-stopping tackle if both other players hadn't crashed sideways into him. Clumsy big man, nothing more.Yr Alban wrote: Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:17 pm Thought 2 of the ABs could have been carded on the same play there, and the one who was, was very lucky indeed it wasn’t red. Our breakdown work hasn’t improved much since the Sefrican loss. We’re comfortably second best there again.Gumboot wrote: Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:17 pm God our backline's disjointed. Havili not having a great game tbh.
Welsh players going way past the tackle and hanging onto ABs. At least Moriarty won't be pestering Retallick any more.ScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:23 pmOur breakdown work hasn’t improved much since the Sefrican loss. I haven't heard Shanklin do comms in a good while. He's pathetically one-eyed.
